Unethical Business Practice
- - A cousin in NY bought from West Kendall Toyota and paid in full; the dealer demanded the license and then towed the car back.
My cousin in NY bought a car for me from West Kendall Toyota, paid in full via wire transfer which was notarized. After the money was sent, and I had the car in my possession they insisted on a copy of my cousin's driver's license.
My cousin did not want to send it. We asked where did it ask for that in the contract or what Florida law required it. They could not or would not answer. They only said the owner wanted it.
2 days later they towed the car back to the dealership! How that is not auto theft I do not understand. The car was paid for in full! My cousin sent the license so I could get the car back.
I will never buy a car from them again. They probably couldn't care less.
I will tell anyone at anyIf they are capabBewat opportunity not to buy from them. At the very least that could tarnish their reputation.
User's recommendation: Beware. If they are capable of that who know what else they will do. Do not trust them. Ever.
