Warrenty coverage
- - Cracked hardy plank can occur if installed poorly and may not be covered.
- - Water and bugs can get behind cracks; pest control was needed.
Did you know your hardy plank can crack if incorrectly installed and it isn't covered by your warranty? It was recommended to me to get home inspection before the first year was up, not at or before closing.
I did this and while vendors fixed things that were the electrical, added insulation but wouldn't fix cracked hardy plank saying it was cosmetic. The cracks are allowing water (Rain) and bugs to get to what is behind the hardy plank. I had to hire pest control to come out and treat an ant infestation that I couldn't clear with the usual ant spectracide granules.
Who knows what else might be there and could cause continued problems. I won't recommend purchasing a Kendal home.
