Yesterday we had Ken Whalen Heating and Air Conditioning service come to give our 5 year old unit a tune up and inspection. I was quoted a price of $80.00 for this service over the phone when I made the appointment. The technician completed his service and handed me a bill for over $488.00! He told me he had to add freon and did not even ask if we wanted it put in. We have had no problems with our unit at all. He even admitted that he may have realeased some of the freon while doing his inspection. He also told us he could find no leaks. He also left and never gave us a receipt of what we paid. I shouldn't have to pay for service I did not approve of. He should have advised me of what was needed and the cost before doing more. I will never use this company again or tell anyone else. I feel scammed.
