Ford continues to have coolant leaks into cylinders, hence engine replacements needed. Recall should include all years. 2016s, 2017s and 2019s are reporting same coolant leaks into cylinders as 2012s-2015s recalled.

I have watched KCRA for many years and always liked how the news is presented till now. She may be a nice lady but I am tired of looking at Lihns back while she tries to give us the weather.

I first thought she was just new and would learn. Nope, she still has to swallow her mouth full of spit on occasion. Messes up then laughs about it. I miss Eileen.

Now that's off my chest. Next why are KCRA the only channel telecasting Tom Steirs political message. I'm sure KCRA likes the money but I can't stand watching political ads during election years let alone now.

My first visit to El Pollo Loco three weeks prior to my second visit was satisfactory as far as the customer service and quality of the food were concerned. However, my second visit, which took place on Monday, January 5, 2015, was a horrid experience. When I approached the counter where the young girl was, I had to wait for a good minute before I asked her if I could order my food; she took a while to respond, not to mention that there was no customer greeting of any sort at all. Right after I ordered my food, I noticed an employee in the grilling area spraying cleaners on half of the grill while the other half of the grill had chicken grilling on it. I immediately asked the girl what was in the bottle that the man was spraying the grill with (as a co-owner of a restaurant, I knew the bottle contained some mixture of bleach in the solution). The girl did not have an answer for me, so she went over to ask her assistant manager on duty, Michael S.. The assistant manager said to me that the cleaner was fine to use and that the man was only spray the other half of the grill and that he was only spraying the bottom of the grill. I told the assistant manager that the other half of the grill still had chicken grilling. I asked him if it was their protocol clean the grill and grill the chicken at the same time, and he responded that they were within protocol. I took in his explanation and took my food to a table.

As I put my food down on a table, I immediately observed the same man, who was spraying the grill with cleaners, was now scraping the vent of the grill while soots were flying down onto the chickens cooking right beneath. To say that I was in disbelief and horrified is an understatement. I couldn’t believe that I was seeing all this in a restaurant right in my own community, but it was happening. I should’ve taken a snapshot of the scene as my friend suggested, but I regret that I didn’t. As I tried hard to eat my soggy quesadilla, the assistant manager, Michael S., approached me and asked how my food was. I told him that my quesadilla was very soggy, with almost no chicken, and that there were bones in the quesadilla when it was supposed to be chicken breast. He pretended to be surprised, but made no apology of any sort. I then pointed out to him that the employee was not supposed to scrape the soots from the vent when there were still meats being cooked right beneath it. I also told him that it was a health hazard to the consumers and that they were violating food safety codes. With no acknowledgment or an apology of any sort, he dismissed my concerns and walked away from me.

My main reason for dining at the restaurant was because it was right across the street from 24 Hour Fitness Gym where I work out. To say that I was disgusted, in disbelief, or flabbergasted would be an understatement. My friends, family members, and I will no longer be dining at any El Pollo Loco restaurants at any locations after this horrifying experience. No restaurants with such low standards of concerns for consumers should be in business in any community. This assistant manager, Michael S., needs to be reprimanded by his authority and should be replaced by someone who values and is concerned with the safety of his/her customers . I will

be forwarding this letter of concerns to the media as well in hopes that the

management of El Pollo Loco will take steps to make any remedial corrections,

so that the customers are not put at health risks while consuming foods

prepared at El Pollo Loco.
