Kayak Newmarket Ontario - NEVER BUY THIS!

Kayak Pools Canada - Kayak Newmarket Ontario - NEVER BUY THIS!
I had a terrible experience with Kayak Newmarket - the pool had issues from year 2 whch the owner, ***, refused to fix holes in the lining all appearing around the same line, bulging at the bottom and then tearing away from the rim. They installed it and 6 years later when we opened the pool after the winter the liner was in shreds at the bottom of the pool the walls were all buckle. the metal bars at the bottom of the pool were buckled and the deck my husband built around it heaved. So now I have a 20 x24 x5 hole in my yard that they refuse to fix even though there is a lifetime warranty on their "workmanship and structure" ! Other pool companies have inspected it and said it was terribly built and should not have been installed in the place they installed it (their suggestion) STAY AWAY and buy from somewhere else. They will not even come out and look at the the structure they gave a lifetime warranty on!

Poor customer service and poor quality materials

Purchase a 12x24x5 on top of ground pool June 2011, one year later the liner has a bulge at the water surface and wrinkles on the walls below the water surface. I called the NewMarket store from where we had purchased the pool and the owner was rude and blamed me for the problem. Three years later the entire liner on the walls is wrinkled, has a bulge on entire perimeter and has now started to tear in one of the corners where the liner hooks into the track. I called to try to get Kayak to do something for me in the spring of 2014 and they basically told me I could get them to install a new liner for $1000.00 and I said that this should be a warranty issue, I shouldn't need to replace the liner after just three years and his answer to me was that I got three good years of swimming out of it. I tell everyone that is thinking about getting a pool to stay clear of Kayak pools because they are junk!

Very Rude and confrontational customer service

If you are trying to find a hopper liner for a Kayak Pool, don't waste your time dealing with the Kayak Pool dealer in Newmarket, Ontario. I dealt with someone named *** and he was confrontational from the word 'go'. He started by bad-mouthing every retailer out there saying, "If they tell you it is a Kayak liner, they are lying," and I hadn't even mentioned that I was looking anywhere else!!! I asked him if they had a dig plan with their liner and he got quite upset with me. I also asked him what the depth of the deep end is when the hopper liner is installed and he didn't have a clue. I asked him again, assuming he didn't understand my question the first time. He was belligerent and rude with me, when I was asking a simple question! I will NEVER deal with them, and will be contacting their head office. http://www.kayakpools.ca/

We had a kayakpool since 1984 and very happy with the pool and very helpful when ever we call them for are winter and summer closing for the fact that you don't know that that is their head office that makes me you are trying to put the company down because either you are not a costumer of theirs or you are another company ,just saying.

If you read further, you will see that I called Kayak Pool Corporation Head Office, which is located in Lancaster, New York.

It was at that point that I realized the store in Ontario was just 'using' the Kayak name when I was told they weren't affiliated with Kayak Pool Corporation.

And just FYI....No, I am not "another company", nor am I just trying to 'put the company down' as you seem to think.

The reason I posted this was to make consumers aware of what they were really dealing with. It was for the benefit of those who don't want to be ripped off or treated inappropriately. If your experience has been good with this company, congratulations! I am happy for you!

You are free to sing their praises! However,I do not appreciate you hurling false accusations at me simply because you disagree with my opinions about my experience. That's the beauty of living in a democratic country my friend. You can speak your mind!

Just sayin'!!

I am not sure who you dealt with and it certainly does not sound like a positive experience. I just had a Kayak pool installed by Kayak Pools Midwest and I am certainly happy with our experience. From Bob in Sales, to Natalee in Installation and Service, Steve in Quality Control and the other Steve who actually set the pool up with his crew. YES we did have some minor cosmetic issues with the installation (nothing that prevented us from using the pool), BUT these were addressed immediately and fixed to our satisfaction.

Every time that I have called and asked a question or requested clarification I have received a call back and had an answer. My questions ranged from number and type of electrical circuits for the pool, salt water set-up, recommended accessories. If Natalee could not answer my question immediately, I had a phone call back within an hour of someone that could not only answer but explain the reasons and logic behind it.

My family is more that satisfied with our Kayak Pool. The only thing I wish I could change was to have been able to save the money sooner to have this pool installed.

I'm sure your experience with Kayak pools in the States was probably good. I contacted Kayak head office in Lancaster, New York, and they were great. The company I am referring to in my complaint is located in Ontario, Canada.

I did deal with kayakpools and I assure you that kayakpools has been in operation since 1965 I know this because my grandfather owned a kayakpool and we found the people that work there very friendley and informative and I know that two of our nieghboures also own a kayakpool and they are very happy with the service, and Iam sure that they could not operate on the name if they did not own it.
