Unsanitary, Unprofessional, Arrogant, Rude
Very UNHYGENEIC. Inadvertantly threw my partial plate in garbage, then before I knew it fished it out and the dentist rinsed it with cold water and put it back in my mouth.
It happened so fast I didn't object, but told the office manager about it at the desk and she said "oh".
I was referred to Dr. Monti and I perceived him to be ARROGANT AND EGOTISTICAL. He does his own sedation and really PUSHES it.
He read in my chart that I take a sedative for Panic Disorder, and when I told him I really didn't want sedation because my sister had a VERY BAD REACTION TO IT. He asked and I quote, "Is your sister MENTALLY DISTURBED like YOU?" What does that have to do with it Dr. Monti. You want to sterotype people take a good look at your office stafff, most of which look like they go back to the half-way after work!!!!!!!!
Then I asked him if my teeth to be pulled could be added to my partial; and I guess that question was BENEATH HIM so, he answered "Why are you asking ME that?" I was later informed by the office manager Donna that he doesn't do the partials. So why couldn't HE just say that, instead of getting so arrogant and irate with me. I then told him I was going to look for another oral surgeon. I found one and needed Katsur to fax them a referral (something they do often with this new oral surgeon) but when I called they said there was a note on my chart saying not to give me anything and they hung up on me.
NOW I AM THE VILLIAN and THEY'RE THE VICTIMS. SHAME ON YOU KATSUR, SHAME ON YOU!!!

Presently sitting in the Bridgeville location highly annoyed. In an attempt to condense appointments for a son home from college, I scheduled appointments back to back for dental appointment and oral surgeon.
My son was taken back after an hour and forty minute wait for the initial appointment (I arrived twenty minutes early to complete paperwork). When you go to the desk to address the long wait, five employees do not even acknowledge your presence. However they are able to socialize and eat snacks. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional response by the staff here.
Shame on me for trying to expedite a process by using medical professionals in one location for a college kid who works. Have not even completed the appointments but the office staff alone would make me NEVER come here again.
The medical staff -if they want the business - might want to trim their dead weight. Fingers are crossed that the dentist/oral surgeon aren't yahoos as well.

Denied service, unprofessional mistreatment from Katsur Dental staff members.
I too being a government UPMC FOR YOU ADVANTAGE insurance carrier had gone for a consult to have 2 out of 3 teeth extracted as a result of a failed root canal, and failed fillings for more than a month now. Dr Monti whom is the Katsur Dental oral surgeon, spent less than 5 minutes speaking to me about removing my teeth and insisted that he would only remove the teeth if I were to be put to sleep under general anesthesia, & then said that it would not be covered under my insurance but that is the only way he could remove my teeth that could be a simple extraction by way of using a local numbing and remove the teeth of which by the way they're not impacted and can be done without being put to sleep.
I was humiliated and practically begged to have them removed as soon as possibile by way of simple extraction, not only did Dr Monti not complete my consult, he also never looked into my mouth to see that the teeth can be done without overcharging my insurance company. Everyone there from the receptionist named Rachlel, and the so called office manager were so rude and unprofessional, I basically had to raise my voice the 3 of them telling them that not only did Dr Monti not finish my consult in private in an exam room, nor did any of them try to resolve my issue without having to make a scene in front other customers, Dr Monti never gave me a chance to speak, & very abruptly told the receptionist Rachel to refer me somewhere else and walked away. I left crying from the West Mifflin office embarrassed and in such awful pain.
I have multiple sclerosis and on top of my concerns of wanting the teeth out to rid any infection exposure to my brain, but the lack of respect and concern from Katsur Dental staff members is mind blowing and I will not let my humiliation go unheard of. After seeing so many other complaints against the same staff members representing Katsur Dental I too will following through with both state and board complaints.

This was the worst experience I ever had with any professional in any health care system. Dr Lewis Damich treated and judged me like I was a piece of trash junky looking to score pills from the dentist.
He was the most un-professional person I had ever dealt with. I only went here because it was an emergency tooth ache, I had read some reviews but didn't see this site until I got home or I would've never went.
Please if any one reads this please avoid Katsura dental in west view pa at all costs or any Katsur dental for that matter. After you read these complaints with 0 being resolved I think you will agree.

DO NOT GO TO KATSUR DENTAL
My husband and I had appointments with Katsur dental in Greensburg. Our appointment was at 8:00 am because my husband had to go to work.
We had no choice but to bring out 17 month son with us and alternate visit times - one of us would watch him in the lobby while the other got their teeth cleaned. We spent over an hour in the waiting room (there were no other patients waiting when we got there) before either of us got seen by the dentist. They told us that there was only one dentist. When we did get in to see the hygienist, she rushed us in and out and we left there feeling like a number.
The only thing good that I can say about this visit is that we were only having our teeth cleaned instead of having a root canal or something.
I wish our former dentist took our new insurance. If you want to go to a good dentist, go to Chestnut Hills Dentist in North Huntingdon.
Horrible root canal!!!
I've had terrible service with Katsur Dental in New Kensington. I got a root canal about 4 years ago and everything was fine until maybe a year and a half ago and then I got an abscess right above the tooth I got a root canal on.
I brought up to the dentists and every time they would say "oh that happens all the time with root canals" and never did anything about it, they didn't even know I had my root canal done there.
So about a month ago they finally prescribed me amoxicillin (which isn't affective for mouth infections, penicillin is supposed to be used). So I took it for about 10 days and it didn't go away, now for about a 3 days I've had terrible pain in my mouth and an abscess the size of a quarter and it's still getting larger!

1st time visit 9/10/15. Told Dr.Damish a filling had been but bothering me intermittently when I would chew food.
Pain and extreme sensitivity deep into the nerve. He said his x-rays showed nothing and after having a panoramic done said the same thing. Saying there was nothing there. So that was that.
No addressing my concern! Also my previous dentist from last year had told me I had one more cavity which needed filling. Dr.Danish said that cavity did not exist. He said very little to me and seemed very detached.
I went on to have my teeth cleaned. The hygienist was so nice and information e about a couple things. You could tell she cared. After scraping mild tartar off areas of my teeth, she explained that she would be cleaning my teeth with some kind of air hose w/water and a salt solution.
It was supposed to be thorough and effective. It blew salty water and air on my teeth. It felt like sandblasting! It was horrible.
Messy. And she spent less than 2 minutes doing this! There was no individual surface cleaning or polishing, nothing. I could not tell from in the office with the mirror what my teeth really looked like.
Never really looked at them in a mirror outside til the next day and they were somewhat yellow like they had been exactly when I went into the place! I called them last night after getting a horrible sensation in my trouble tooth filling and left them an angry message. I haven't heard back from them. I'm not surprised.
Now I have to spend money out of my pocket to get my teeth cleaned elsewhere and pay for x-rays because my insurance won't do it a second time. This is Katsur Dental in Westview Plaza, Pgh. PA. 15229.
First AND last time. A joke.

I use the West Mifflin office and I agree that the front desk staff could be better. Way better with customers.
The dentist is always in a hurry and appointment times are always very late, sometimes by almost an hour. Now they have assistants doing the fillings. The Dr, drills, and leaves, never to be seen again. I need to go get a cleaning soon, so I don't know I'd anything has changed.
They did do 2 repairs on my teeth that broke that have lasted and I'm glad for that. I'll post after my next visit.
