SSD upgrade

Purchased an SSD upgrade for my laptop (model specific) from Kahlon, tried to clone my drive, long story short, the SSD is not recognized and it crashed my computer into 'the blue screen of death'.

To get out of it, I had to refresh my knowledge of DOS from 20yrs ago. That took a few days. But that part was probably my fault. I should have tested it before relying on it. Every company can have a dud from time to time.

Now, I am in my 2rd week of trying to get them to replace it, and they are not responding to my mails.

It seems I may have lost $150 to a faulty product.

Kahlon no longer beats the competition on price.

Kahlon memory prices are now so high, compared to the rest of the online market. Such a shame, because Kahlon used to be our "go to" site for RAM.

In Many cases Kahlon memory prices are 40% to 60% higher than comparable sticks on ebay, Amazon and New Egg. And the memory on ebay and New Egg are highly rated brands. In the past, we would buy Kahlon memory without comparing prices elsewhere, because we trusted Kahlon to take care of us.

Not any more. Buyer Beware!

What does compatible mean?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a replacement battery for my Dell laptop. Kahlon sells their batteries as compatible.

The battery arrives, does not hold a charge for more than an hour. The pathetic customer/technical service personnel informs me i need to update my BIOS thru Dell so my laptop will recognize their battery. I researched doing so and decided I did not want to take the chance of disabling my laptop. So am I alone here?

What does compatible mean? To me it means it will work with your device.

Apparently Kahlon has a different definition.

No battery replacement

I purchased a replacement battery for a Toshiba laptop in Nov. 2012.

It failed to take a charge after 1 day. i contacted Kahlon Mr. Anthony he sent a RMA i paid the shipping charges both to & from Kahlon . Anthony said that the battery was tested & it was good, and offered a different vendor's battery and I agreed to try it.

That was over a month ago! i have E-mailed & called & left messages to no avail. I am now out the purchase price and freight both ways. Is this company for real?

or is Kahlon a sham? I am still awaiting some sort of resolution.

Kahlon, lousy customer service

After speaking with CSR, requesting return info, 6 more contacts at their website for RMA#, 4 e-mails and then another e-mail about their request that I review their company, which I did, negatively, they finally sent me the RMA# to return the product, recommended by their " tech " that did not work. I still lose out on the shipping costs to me and back to them.

The whole process took 3 weeks, oh yeah you only have 30 days to "return" Seeems to me they were trying to let "time run out" and hoped I would tire of contacting them. Not when it is my $$ I won't.

bunch of crooks.. I clicked on a price and it changed from 26.00 to 29.00.

I clicked on a 9-10 day shipping method for 5.00 and they changed it to priority mail for 12.95. I had no idea that once i gave them authorization to charge my card for the total listed on my billout that they would jack it up to whatever they want.

They will rob your cc if you give it to them.. don't do it..

Kahlon battery

they sent me a battery that did not work. they tried to problem solve the issue with me until it was too late for me to return it(according to their rules.

It did not matter that they were fully aware of the issue from the time that I had received it. the head of customer service is pompous. but more importantly they boast a one year guarantee, but ignore the fact that their products do not work.

they take no responsibility for items they swear are compatible, but when you try them they are not and Kahlon just keeps your money. bad people selling bad products,

Laptop Battery 'Sticky Tag' was in the way while inserting battery into slot. I removed the Tag.

Then I noticed in same color black text warranaty void if removed on Sticky Tag. However, there is Bar Code Sticker on battery which faces Me which should be enough ID.

Seems I now have NO warranty. AVOID this company.

A few years ago, when my sony vaio laptop battery failed, I bought a replacement from Kahlon. It failed in less than a month and customer service refused to replace the defective battery they sent me since "I must've misused it". I was so mad that I ended up throwing the laptop away.

I purchased a replacement battery for my Toshiba Satellite laptop. Kahlon's ad promised "100% compatibility guaranteed".

Their guarantee proved to be worthless. All they would do was replace my battery with another incompatible one.

Kahlon - stay away

There are many other companies with slightly better prices and significantly more interest in customers. I purchased two products that, despite the description, were not compatible with my computer.

I called and they walked me through a trouble shoot that was supposed to fix the problem. They assumed it was a problem with the cable. After a few weeks I called again because the problem continued. At that juncture I was told it was the battery I had purchased and they would replace it because it was too late for me to get a refund.

I should mention that getting the com[any to even replace the battery was a lengthy process. The head of customer service was convinced that i was lying or something because he gave me a hard time everytime we spoke. I don't even know what there was to lie about. Anyway, they sent me a replacement and guess what, it still did not work.

They are refusing to give my money back.

If the products had worked in the first place there would be no issue. If they had not misdiagnosed the problem from the out set I would not have missed the time limit for refunds, where they not so condescending and dismissive, I would not be writing this note.

Ty for this and the other posts here I have read about Kahlon. I was wondering how they could offerr a 250GB HD for an IBM T-30 when the manual states a top size of 60GB.

Thanx again and sorry you had to find out the hard way so we may learn. Be well.

Glad I found these comments BEFORE I ordered a battery. Problems always arise when you are selling a product, but how you handle the problems is the key. Thanks for warning me about this company.
