Unacceptable customer experience

Weve had okay experience at this location before, but today we had an issue with the GM that has to be raised.

My group of 4 people purchased 2 races, and were given a wait time of 1:30 hours. We decided to wait outside, and came back about 50 minutes later.

To our surprise, seems like we had missed our race (40 minutes before the expected time). We understood this, when checking to reschedule the race, the GM let us know that we had not really missed the race, that it was probably a miscommunication with the names. We were shortly called to our first race. After that, we waited for about 1 hour for our second race, and when we asked again, they told us we were moved to the end of the queue due to missing the first race.

We had the GM called, and he basically called my group liars. He was extremely rude, and said and I quote: if you dont want to race, Ill give you a refund because you just want to argue. What kind of customer service is this? We were willing to come back a different day to take the race we arguably missed, and stayed because he assured us we didnt miss anything.

He basically lied to get us to stay, and then acted in a very rude manner in frond of staff and customers.

Apart from this, karts at this place seem to lack maintenance.

The latest one I used was shaking a lot. Some of mu friends experienced issues with the kart being slow, or part of the helmet blowing away in the middle of the race, which could be a safety concern.

Hello K1 Speed Team,

This is our 3rd time attending K1Speed at the Torrance location in the past couple of years, we love it here and so does our team. However, the price that we paid for the team building package did not reflect what we received.

after the practice race which all 14 members of our team got to participate, we did the "Ball Challenge Relay", in which only six people got to participate. This left more than half my team very disappointed as the challenge looked like a lot of fun and they all wanted to participate but had to sit out.

Next, we did a Pit Crew Challenge, which is just a propped-up cart where you get to take off a single wheel, this was barely an activity, not only that but the tools we were given did not work properly, at one point the K1 Speed employees were taking off the wheels for us as the tools did not work. (See attachment for reference.) The activity took a long time due to the broken tool, in this activity, only 8 out of 14 people got to participate (barely.)

At this point, we were supposed to do a "Top 12" race but it was only a top eight for some reason, which again meant leaving six people out of participating.

All this means that several of our team members got to race only two times. That is not worth $110 per person.

As I look at the initial breakdown you sent me, two races during the week are $55 and even three races are $75.

Overall it was a very disappointing outing as most of the team did not get to participate in more races. As I mentioned the price paid did not match what was offered or what was promised. Hope to hear back from you soon and I'm hoping that you can make this right and perhaps adjust what we paid or offer something else for the team.

We love this place and would love to continue going here.

I was in contact with a K1Speed Sales Representative named Rin Teeter, Rin failed to explain exactly what the Team building package was. He only sent me the brochure that specifically details the team-building package after I reached out to him a few days after we attended K1 Speed.

He told me he was going to reach out to the Manager of this location to get more info and to see what they can do for us but then went radio silent.

I wrote back twice looking for updates but he just ignored the follow-up and I haven't received a single response. The last time I heard back from Rin was June 15.

I'm hoping to get a response and some help, thank you in advance.

User's recommendation: If you're looking for a company or team event the sales representative will do a great job selling you on the place but will provide misleading information. I sent them a few emails after the event and they completely ignored me as they didn't care about the sale anymore.

Maybe, if the company resolves the issue, and I choose k1 since 2021….

Dear Management Team of K1 Speed Karting.
I wish to express my deep disappointment with a recent and extremely unpleasant experience at K1 Speed Karting (770 Lawrence Dr, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320). I was a customer who recently attended a go-kart race at your venue and I feel it is necessary to file a serious complaint in anticipation of resolving this issue and improving the quality of your service.
During my participation in the race, I noticed one of the adult drivers displaying extremely unprofessional and malicious behavior, behavior that posed a serious threat to the safety of other drivers and children.

This rider maliciously struck other competitors and also acted in a blocking manner, which not only jeopardized his own safety, but also triggered a series of vehicle collisions, including children. After the incident, one of the competitors complained about the situation to your staff, but unfortunately, we did not receive any positive response or treatment.
I believe this behavior poses a serious threat to the reputation of your venue and the safety of your participants. Kart racing is a popular recreational activity and it should be a safe and fun experience, not one that is worrying and upsetting. As a customer, I expect your team to take appropriate action to prevent this from happening again and to ensure the safety of all participants.
I recommend that you take the following steps to address this issue:
1.

issue serious warnings or temporary bans to adult drivers involved in malicious behavior.
2. tighten up the supervision of karting competitions to ensure that all competitors abide by the rules of competitive ethics and safety.
3. offer appropriate compensation or apology to the affected children and other participants to alleviate the uneasiness arising from the incident. Instead of putting all the blame on the customers!
4.

establish an effective complaint handling procedure to ensure that future complaints are handled and resolved in a timely manner.
5.

I am confident that you will take appropriate action to address this issue and improve the quality of your service to ensure a safe and enjoyable kart racing experience for all customers. I look forward to hearing your response on this issue and the steps you take.

I would like a complete refund for my trip due to an employee at the Boston location. It made me so uncomfortable and I am a minor. The employee flirted with me and that is not okay I need a refund if not I will proceed with my attempts

Horrible Service

The operation of this facility needs some serious oversight. Racers are held in queues without any races occurring for nearly 30 minutes at a time.

This obviously creates unnecessary and hard to take delays. Why is on group not being made ready while the other group is racing. If you want my return something must be done. These excessive and unresponsive wait times to race while no races at all are occurring is not worth the cost of racing.

We come to race not split aimlessly staring at a baren track for nearly 30 minutes of nothing not once but again and again. This has happened nearly every time we have come.

Racers should be made ready to race while the other race is underway. If this happens again I'm going to social media so all can see what we are experiencing here at K2SLOW Horrible!

User's recommendation: Operate the facility as design. The next group is made ready while the preceding group is racing. There is no excuse for an empty track for 30 minutes between each race.

Paid for a gift card for my grandson whose birthday is March 19. Ordered and paid on March 4, I havent received the gift card but receive a email about my purchase which has a code at the top of the email. I have ordered before and received the card within 3 days. Did I receive an E gift card instead of a physical card? We want to use this next weekend when I go to Chicago for his birthday.
