Took the money and ran

We hired Julia Hazeltine to design a layout for a mother in law kitchen. She came up with a couple pencil sketches that were barely legible. This was a first step in a series of major projects planned at our home. We had a major remodel coming up which we were budgeting 60 to 80K for updating our entire home. We believed that this would be a significant incentive for Julia to make a best effort. This was far from the case. Even after recommendation from someone we knew, our experience was very disappointing. She was paid $750 up front for the design effort for this small space. She then came up with a few ideas way over the budget. We told her our budget up front for the 10 ft by 14 ft. space. Julia failed to come up with a simple plan for this small space when our budget of $142 per Sq ft. On a finished space without appliances. There was no warning or discussion regarding issues or concerns from Julia. Then without any explanation she would not return email, text or calls. We were extremely disappointing and somewhat awestruck that Julia would not respond in any way. There was no explaination or response from her at all. Our warning is to make sure you have some sort of written refund or contract with terms and then not pay until there is a deliverable that could be used going forward. Again make sure to Get something before you pay. Or just stay away. I would not recommend hiring Julia Hazeltine for your home decorating needs. With no explanation and just dropping us with no explanation. The most confusing part was there was absolutely no response to multiple email, text, or phone calls.

True, substantive malfeasance complaints must be placed in writing, enumerated specifically with suggested remedy, with a time limit stated for written reply or action prior to your escalation of the case. Usually 7 business days for written reply. Accept no further telephone calls, text messages, or e-mails.

On the other hand, some people are intransigent and impossible to deal with ( $142 per ft sq is rather specific ; not always possible or practical. You're being a bit harsh, and the supplier is either incompetent or just plain tired of you.
