Michael Peters at Juniper Properties is a Slum Lord

Myself and 5 other friends rented a house from Michael while going to college. Within weeks of moving in, the problems began. We were never provided with copies of the lease agreement, and subsequent requests went unanswered. The windows were faulty, and we were blamed when one broke. It took over a month to fix, during which time temperatures were falling and it was freeing in the house as a result. Soon the bathroom began to leak water into the kitchen through the ceiling. Then the oven broke, and we were told that a working oven was not a necessity and he would not be fixing it. There were several electrical problems that also went unresolved. The front door lock malfunctioned shortly after we moved in, and it took months to be repaired, leaving us with no way to lock the house. There were holes in the wall big enough for a person to fit through, which, like everything else, went un-repaired. There were also rats, which took to defecating in the kitchen cupboards and silverware drawer. No attempt was ever made by the property management to resolve this or many other pressing issues. When rent was withheld in an attempt to resolving these issues, the property manager started eviction proceedings. The result was an ugly and unnecessary legal battle which resulted in the dissolution of the 5 friendships and much hardship and suffering on behalf of the tenants. The security deposit has also not been returned, and the repairs were never performed. This guy is a world class *** who takes advantage of college students. Unfortunately, this time he has avoided the consequences of his actions. But beware, do not rent from Juniper Properties!

Maybe next time check the place out and demand immediate copies of your contracts. Take a picture with your cellphone if you have to. Such dimwits loose now-a-days.
