Incompetent and Dishonest Lawyer
Jon Rogers made a 'friendly' arrangement with me as my father is in his church group. My wife and I had several debts we wanted his help to settle. The first settlement that happened was offered by the credit card company but in good faith we had Jon broker it. When the next settlement was offered to us Jon fumbled it and then rarely responded to his email or returned any phone calls. He was offended at how I pointed out an error in his book keeping and officially announced the termination of our arrangement pending this second settlement. After three months of him fumbling this settlement and him avoiding our efforts to contact him, we had to get the money back that he was holding to make this settlement. To do this we had to sign something saying that we were terminating the agreement against his recommendation which is silly considering he terminated the agreement in an email with us prior to that. Silly in that trade being able to file a complaint with the state bar for getting what little of our money we could back from him sort of way. Rather than making his book keeping right Jon Rogers chose the dishonest route and my wife and I ended up paying twice his regular fee. I also fail to see how someone who specializes in Consumer Law could be so incompetent that he would not be able to handle a settlement handed to us by the credit card company. He would give some good excuses though from family issues to being too busy in court to tend to our matters. They all seemed bogus to me.
