John Muir HIPAA Violations

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Nov 04, 2023

I received an “Cease & Desist Letter” from an out of state law firm. They are demanding that I retract my Complaint to John Muir which would then make me a liar.

Even more troubling is the email that I received by John Muir. They have stated that this is between their Nurse Manager and myself.

I filed the Privacy Rights Complaint to John Muir in good faith. Apparently John Muir is fine with their employees threatening lawsuits if their patients file any complaints.Ver slippery slope.,,

Original review updated Nov 04, 2023
All I know is that a nurse manager with John Muir in Walnut Creek has been my next door neighbor for a little over a year. I have had no interaction with her except for when she first moved in.

However, I over heard her several times while she was in her home saying my name and discussing specific details regarding my medical stays at John Muir including my traumatic brain injuries. In fact, in one incident she mentioned to the other person that she had my medical records and that my injuries do not seem to be as bad as I portrayed. I also heard a male voice telling her she needs to keep gathering evidence. In another conversation/incident I overheard her discussing how I actually walked out of the hospital during one of my stays at John Muir.

I don't know how she got all of this information. Did she pull up my records in the system, did she have someone else do it, did she bring me up to other doctors, nurse, or staff? But I do know that what I heard was very derogatory and there is no way she should have any of my personal medical information and this is a violation of my privacy.
I previously filled out one of these online email forms and all Ive received is the sound of crickets.
Your lack of response clearly illustrates how little you care about John Muirs patients.
However, I find this matter extremely disturbing. How can you employ individuals who use their position to attempt to hurt people for their own personal reasons.
There is not a chance in *** I will ever seek care from a place who knowingly ignores HIPAA Violations.
This Nurse Manager with John Muir is an evil spiteful woman that has spread information about my personal medical information.

She has embellished the truth with lies and opinions.

All done with no accountability or consequences. Care of John Muir hospital.

Pros:
  • Good location
Cons:
  • Upper management blocks and ignores complaints

Preferred solution: • Statement of an apology by John Muir. • Termination, demotion and/or serious disciplinary action taken against said nurse manager. • Retract her false statements, apologize in writing & distribute it to our neighbors. • Agree to a restraining order.

User's recommendation: Chose your hospitals wisely. John Muir had ignored my efforts condoning their employe intentional illegal attack on my rights of privacy.

Complaint

I had a very bad experience at John Muir cardiology when I received my eco cardio gram. The staff member at the front desk was far from being professional.

I was taken to a room for my procedure that had the air conditioner on and thrown a blanket. Attendant was not to interested in making me comfortable.

I felt that the staff was rude and made me feel that I would never want to go back there again.

Complaint Regarding Service by Home Visiting Physician

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am a 75 year old, homebound male with diabetes, heart failure and osteoarthritis. Recently I had a problem with the John Muir Home Health Care service.

They assigned an OD to me which developed into a problem. The doctor prescribed meds after an August 31st 2022 home visit. The prescriptions did not get filled for almost 3 weeks due to Labor Day, weekends, and missteps. I immediately asked for a new doctor and have not had any response from John Muir.

I want an MD not a DO. I told them not to ignore my messages because I need a doctor I can depend on. I told them I feel am more important than holidays or weekends. I had discontinued a diabetes medication and had the doctor replace it with a different one.

However, the replacement was delayed by almost 3 weeks which left me without the diabetes medication. John Muir doesn't recognize this as a major concern. I depend on home care since donating my car a couple years ago after foot surgeries. Ride services cost about $50 round trip which I cannot afford on my Social Security income.

I contacted you because I don't know where to turn for direction on my healthcare issues. John Muir won't even answer my My Chart messages regarding a new MD assignment.

Surely there are other home service doctors available in the John Muir organization. My current doctor schedules online visits as if nothing happened.

Best Regards,

William R Jenkins Jr.

John Muir Health - Just wanted to share my husband experienced at the hospital.
Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

This is in regards to my husband who was hospitalized last December 2021. He had massive stroke in 2017 and he need total care.

He was starving for almost two weeks. He asked for food but no one assisted him with feeding he just received IV fluids. He went to the hospital at 122 lbs, and after he's been discharged from the hospital he only weighed 111lbs. He did not get the care he needed help with.

They just ignored him because doesn't have a voice to speak up. When he got back from tbe hospital, he was afraid they will go after him. The elderly need fair care. Our insurance makes sure that they don't get neglected while they are while they are being cared for.

They shouldn't be tramatized and mistreated when they need care.

They shoud not be ignored they need TLC. Ester J.
