Sold me a vehicle with defects and scam me on the financing.
The purpose of this letter is to convey my dissatisfaction with a transaction during a purchase of vehicle from John Miles Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC in Conyers, Georgia. On August 9, 2011, I purchased a car which I thought that would be a pleasant experience, however, it turn out to be a horrible disappointment. The following item are very suspect of unfair and unlawful transactions: (1.) During the sale of the vehicle, customers are being told that if you purchase this vehicle that you would received several items as part of sale, such as the remaining manufacturer warranty, six ( 6) month free trial on On-Star System (2) all options on the vehicle to completely operational, such as remote start, cooling system, audio system , navigation system and other system on the manufacture specification sheet, and (3) a vehicle that has been inspected and certified . First, during the signing of contact, the finance manager add the cost of the warranty ($1500), which previously discussed included in the price of car. Second, the finance manager adds $499 for customer service and says that it is required and part of financing process (paying for poor customer service?). Thirdly, the dealer told me that I could drive the vehicle home while the financing was being completed. And the next morning when I attended to bring the vehicle back, the vehicle would not start, and the finance manger and the sale representative stated that if I would get the battery replaced, the dealer would remibruse me for the cost. Another dealership replaced the battery and the service mechanic said that the battery was defective before the purchase and that it was suppose to be on the list of items that were checked on certification and warranty inspection list. I have discussed this situation with the sale representative, assistant sale manager, and the general manager without any resolution. As of today, my navigation system is not operational and I have refused to pay to get it done because it was suppose to have been corrected shortly after the purchase. Several sales and financing practices have been violated in this situation including harassment. My concern is that the dealership has taking advantage of me and other customers unless something is done to stop these illegal and unethical practices. This is one unprofessional dealership I have worked in thirty (30) years.
