Verified Buyer |Push fit ball valve let go on my shower water line
- Item # 110*1/2 push-fit ball valve failed.
- Hot water sprayed into the room, causing floor and carpet damage.
- Customer seeks compensation.
Item # 110*- ***, 1/2 push fit ball valve for our hot and cold water to our shower burst/ let go. It is my understanding that these valves are not suppose to do this.
I had significant water all over the floor and carpet due to this valve letting go.
I came home and heard the noise and found hot water spraying into the room.
I am looking for some sort of compensation. Thank you, Christine MacIsaac

Products fail and cost consumers money to repair
- Three Aqua Dynamics Frost Free Valves installed; hot and cold valve failures caused water loss and repair costs around $1,143 not reimbursed.
I had 3 Frost Free Valves from Aqua Dynamics installed in my home and was told they would never fail by my contractor.
Jan 13th the hotwater valve failed and as a result my water was running for almost 15hrs straight out back without my knowledge. I called teh Hot water rental people, who said water was running and we went outside, I had no hot water in my house due to this. I only found this out when I went outside to shovel and found an ice rink in my backyard. I had to cancel family plans that day due to this horrible issue. Then I got a letter from the City saying I am using too much water.............
On Jan 19, again i went out to clear the snow and found the cold water valve running. I could not shut this off, I had to call a plumber and he replaced the whole valve. He then told me I should have a shut off inside and he could not do it then.
I called a contractor the next day who had to cut into my drywall find he lines put in access panels which are ugly and install the valves and patch everything up.
The total cost of just repairs are $1143.00 I have not received all the gas and water bills but they will be in the $500.00 range.
I called the company spoke to Nancy who put me on to Hinda who said she wished I called earlier they provide the inserts that fail no charge and she could not cover my costs.
I then sent all my bills via email and explanation to the Head office Sales Manager
ANDRÉ BOURBONNAIS, I called him several times with no return call or acknowlegment except a read receipt to my email so he did get my email
I would never recommend these valves, the Hot water heater Rep said they always fail, the Plumber does not use this type, we had to go to RONA and purchase them that night, and the contractor also said these always fail.
So beware, I am requesting my almost $2000 back from John L Schultz again.
Thank you

I am also having problems with 4 in my house that was just recently renovated. I am not sure what I will do, however it *** me off that Home Depot and others like them continue to sell this crap even when their own website is full of customer complaints.
I am investigating filing complaints.
It will most likely cost me $750 to $1500+ to take them out of my finished basement. Not happy.
