Deceptive trade practice

AI Highlights
  • - The lease included an unnecessary warranty.
  • - I signed on an iPad with no paperwork.
  • - I canceled the warranty the same day; awaiting $1,750.

I leased a Honda for 3 yr 36k. The dealership snuck in an additional warranty, which is totally unnecessary in a lease.

They had me sign and initial on a small iPad and did not include paperwork, but rather insisted on emailing the docs to me. Once I printed them at home, I realized that they added the extra warranty.

I cancelled the warranty that day (1/2/25).. I have yet to receive the $1750 that I am owed.

They are not only deceitful, but are very slow to respond, as they know that they are in the wrong.

Make 100% sure that they aren't ripping you off!

Loss:
$1750
Pros:
  • Friendly salesperson
Cons:
  • Slow to respond

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Ask specifically if they added an additional warranty.

BEWARE of HONDA CIVICs

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Battery issues persist on my 2014 Civic, with two batteries replaced.
  • - Car won’t start after weekends; dealership says I don’t drive enough.

I have had battery issues with my 2014 Honda Civic for over 6 months now. Replaced the battery two times.

The car drives well during the week, but if it is not driven on a Saturday or Sunday it wont start the following day. So, I have had to jump start the car every week to get to work. The dealership and HONDA state that I am not driving the car enough ( I drive about 40 to 50 miles each day) and that I need to drive more to keep the battery charged. I have never heard of such!!!

I understand that this is a modern vehicle, but jump starting my car once a week is not acceptable. They are not offering any assistance or resolutions.

Loss:
$17000
Pros:
  • Size and comfort of the car
Cons:
  • That the car does not work
Reason of review:
Bad quality
