on 1-5-2011,i purchased a few products,from the jewels located on 95 stony island in chicago. my 3 kids throw up all day.my dad fixed us all hamburgers.some one did call from the jewels headquarter saying their meats are thrown away everyday.well,obviously, they werent thrown away then.my kids were very ill.i could have sued. I was offerd a gift card,i had to take back all of the food i purchased. i spent the $20 that was given.but i will never purchase any meats from there again.that was my first and last time,buying meat from there.

Jewels Food Store is a supermarket chain headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. It includes 182 stores across northern, central, and western Illinois; eastern Iowa; and portions of northwest Indiana. The company is currently wholly owned subsidiaries of Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based SuperValu. In 1899, it was founded by Frank Vernon Skiff in Chicago, Illinois, as a door-to-door coffee delivery service. In 1902, Skiff partnered with Frank P. Ross, renaming the venture the Jewel Tea Company. In 1929, the company built a new office, warehouse, and coffee roasting facility in suburban Barrington, Illinois, creating hundreds of local jobs despite the Great Depression.
