Tricked/ripped of
- The company took a non-refundable deposit after quoting.
- They then asked for a passport copy.
- This should have been disclosed upfront; refund requested.
In searching for pet transportation companies to ship two dogs from Australia to the US, I contacted a number of pet transporters who gave me quotes. I asked a few compatriots who have had animals transported to recommend companies, and this company was recommended by a good friend.
I Received a quote for services, then spoke with a customer representative who took my deposit. After taking the deposit I was informed that I needed to send a copy of my passport.
No other company in this line of business requires this.
I informed them that they should have told me about this requirement prior to taking my "non-refundable" deposit.
I have contacted the company and told them that I did not think it good business practice to not tell people up-front that a copy of their passport would be required.
I would like my money back.
- Being deceived
Preferred solution: Full refund
