I had an ugly experience on an afternoon of December 29, 2020, about 2:40 PM at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, 820 S Damon Ave., Chicago, IL. Three personnel of the Hospital were unprofessional, extremely rude (one of them was very aggressive), and highly confused. I was waiting for a 755 Pace Bus for Bolingbrook (a suburb of Chicago, IL), which was supposed to be arriving 50 minutes later, so I asked the Staff of the Hospital who was allowing people to enter into the Hospital, if I can sit somewhere if she allows me for some times until the bus pulls in--she denied letting me sit inside the Hospital and also denied my request to sit down where ever she allows, so I can offer my afternoon Prayer; however She allowed me to stay in the Corridor instead and wait for the Bus. Visitors to the Hospital that she was checking in, none of them showed their ID or any sort of ID who can tell her that they all were legitimate visitors or staff of the Hospital. Outside the Hospital, there is a waiting area for the Pace Bus, but the area was being used by smokers (staff of the Hospital and non-staff); it was cold afternoon, and it was hard for me to stay outside the waiting are for 50 minutes; I am almost 70 years old. Once one Security Officer allowed me with a very harsh voice to wait only once until the Bus pulls in, and within a few minutes two more Security officers (sent by the Lady Staff) of the Hospital approached toward me and told me to leave that corridor and stay outside, one of them harassed me, almost pushed me out, shouted at me and intimidated me with his aggressive behavior, and he was extremely rude. When I told him that I will complain about your outrageous behavior, he replied to go ahead and make a complaint; he showed his confidence that he will not be asked about his aggressive behavior. This was my first time in the Hospital and was very much disappointed with their inhumane behavior. I hope these Governmental Facilities funded federally for the Citizens of this Country have some check and balance with their employees attitude and some Staff members becomes respectful toward with other Tax Payers who also contribute to run these facilities; these facilities are our own and belong to civilian. We all respect, love and honor Veterans for their sacrifices to protect us and America. God Bless America.
User's recommendation: Administration must question these three Staff for Aggressive Behavior.
I was with the Hines VA system for almost 30 years and had ZERO issues. I moved less than 2 months ago and now under Jessie Brown VA.
For a lack of better words Jessie Brown VA is a complete Shi$ Show. As of today I have switched back to Hines, though I have to drive 15 miles to the closes clinic, I know it will be worth it!
