Jennings Home Repair running scams out of Bison, KS

This low life Jennings is still at it 8/24/24.

His newest victim is my elderly mother to whom he agreed to repair siding on one outside wall, paint another outside wall, and reroute some plumbing in the basement, hang/install a new front door, as well as other things.

My mother being my mother decided to pay Jennings $1,700 down for the repairs that were to begin the following week.

Jennings never showed up. He refused to return her phone calls. He refused to return the $1,700 she paid him for the work that was never done.

Patrick Jenning's is a low life p.o.s. If you ask around in your local town you'll hear him described as a *** Stain".

Do NOT hire him. If you see Patrick Jennings name in the obituary from Bison, KS one day rejoice for the world is a better place.

STAY AWAY FROM PATRICK JENNINGS, AND JENNINGS HOME REPAIR!

Shoddy work, unprofessional, horrible business

I hired for a privacy fence to be put up. Right after being put up I was told I needed to lift one of the gates to be able to open and close it.

Wasnt a huge deal so I just let that be although it shouldve worked with it being brand new. Until it was an actual problem and it wasnt operational for my kids and I to be able to use. He did come to fix this right away when it was brought to his attention which was great. It is still very hard to open and close so this will need fixed by me now.

The biggest problem I encountered was an entire side of the fence leaning a few days after being built. They came and poured more concrete into some of the post holes to help with that. But, it ended up not helping and less than two weeks after the fence was built, the entire side was leaning. I had previously asked for this to be fixed and was going to be charged more to have it fixed ($270 more).

I ended up getting more information on the issue and learned that the posts were not buried deep enough (2ft) for a 6ft fence. All the posts were cut down at different lengths and buried at different lengths (picture of cut-offs included). Some of the cuttings were 2ft long so it is physically impossible those posts are buried 2ft down. The posts that had 24in cut off would be a maximum of 8in deep (96in-24in=72in left of post 72in-64in above ground=8in deep).

So this side leaning was not due to wind, soil, etc, it was due to not being built properly. I should not have to pay to fix that, especially after being charged over the original amount I was told in the first place. Once discussing this more with him and letting him know I really could not pay to fix this issue, he did say he would come remove a few posts and re-do them but the catch was for me to purchase more material and that myself or one of my friends or family members needed to help and he wouldnt charge for his labor then. I agreed as either way we would have to do something to fix this.

My grandpa was then explained the situation and said that wasnt happening. So, it ended up being that it was fixed without our help but just a few posts were done and not re posted. So, a week after it being fixed it is still leaning, posts still moving with no effort. I really tried working with him to fix this issue in a respectful manner.

Another fence company came and inspected the fence and gave me exact details on what was wrong and I was pretty upset with all the information they provided me. They werent trying to sell me anything so they had no reason to be biased. This was a company that did a fence for a friend of mine. I ended up asking how much it would cost to fix and it was almost as much as the original fence/labor to have them re-do all of it even with re-using the majority of the material.

If I was going to pay anyone anymore money for this fence, it wouldve been this company, but after the expense of this fence of course that is not possible right now. I assume I will be replacing it within a few years, if that. So, after giving prior recommendations before this situation, I dont believe I will be making anymore unfortunately as this was a very costly and stressful situation for something I was really excited to have done. I ended up taking Patrick to small claims court on 6/22/22.

I received a judgment for a fair amount that would end up covering what was needed to be able to replace the posts. This was to be paid within 14 days of that judgment. It is now 8/4/22 and it has yet to be paid. He took complete advantage of a single mother and keeps neglecting the matter of his shoddy work.

If you want work to be done correctly, go somewhere else! Definitely do your research as he just does random jobs for cash and tells people he knows what he is doing.
