A wavy dash board

Jeep - A wavy dash board
Jeep - A wavy dash board - Image 2
My dashboard is wavy. I took it and the deal said 6 thousand dollars to repair. They have to take the dash out and re glue the leather to the dashboard. I have always had the car in the garage. Only has 36 thousand miles but it is a 2017. I know I have no warranty but I was hoping you could help me?

Resolved: Customer service

Updated by user Mar 20, 2024

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Allot of communication with the parent company of Chrysler and Chrysler in addition to continued follow up with Jeep themselves.

Original review Feb 19, 2024
My Jeep has a bad transmission thats still under warranty. Between the communication at the dealer to Jeep corporate initially I wont be getting a transmission till mid March. The car has been there since January 15th. If you call there corporate office you get put into a loop that you have to suffer to understand. The dealer said call corporate, corporate said to call the dealer. The worst experience with a dealership ever.

Water Leak

2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport. No sunroof.

I have a water leak that I cannot find. Running into drivers side floor. I have taken the carpet and insulation out as far up under the dash as possible. I was told to check the wheel well first that was a common place for leaks on the Jeeps.

I have removed drivers side wheel well cover and put auto body crack sealer and then sprayed undercoating over all seams. Still leaks. I then removed the wiper cowl and sealed and sprayed everything on the drivers side. Including the area where the hood hinge is.

I was careful each time I sprayed water from lower areas up. I do not believe it is the seal on windshield because it leaks even when I keep that area dry. The local dealership has a Leak Doctor that starts out at $100 to locate the leak, then costs of fixing it. I have pictures of everything I have tried.

The water comes in the inside through two holes in a spot welded panel behind and to the left of the brake pedal. The panel is filled with a foam type stuff. It is saturated. I could stop up those holes but I am worried that the water between the panels will rust out the floor area.

Like I said, I have sealed everything I can see inside the water trough at wipers and wheel well area. I have read this is a problem with many Jeeps and some dealerships have yet to find the leak. I can possibly fix it myself but cannot get behind the firewall to see the seam for the cowl. Any information or forwarding this to another department will greatly be appreciated.

I am not pissed but needing info. It has been a great vehicle so far with only 52,000 miles on it.

2014 jeep grand cherokee ecodiesel

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Paid 23000 for 2014 jeep grand cherokee summit ecodiesel, had it a year and in that year it was in the shop this beening the 3rd time. Driving along JGC losses oil pressure so I pull over and stop have it towed to the dealership and told them no to start it and to figure out the problem.

They start it and they said started knocking making all kinds of noise. 116000 on a diesel engine, ruined. Dealership says it was basically blown when it lost oil pressure but idk. Now they quoted me 18,000 for a new motor and 3600 to install.

I'm in total disbelief! Called Jeep said they can't help me. These ecodiesel engines are blowing up all over the place after I looked around online! If this isn't a class action lawsuit I don't know what is!!

A diesel engine is just getting broke in at the milage mine blew up! I don't know what to do, can't afford to pay to get it fixed and I owe still like 20000 on it! If Jeep knows about these ecodiesel blowing up and have inflated the new engines for these.

Last year someone said they were like 8k now they are double in price! Something needs to be done ASAP!!

Preferred solution: Either Jeep owns up to the ecodiesel problem and makes it right either buy fixing the vehicle or paying off the loan on it.

Dealer deception about warranty on a leased vehicle

Updated by user Mar 08, 2024

I called Mopar and told them that even though we leased a new vehicle and was told there was a 36 month or 36k mile warranty Jeep claimed that the warranty was expired because it started NOT when we leased the car but, rather when the dealer took delivery . Even though...

Original review Mar 08, 2024
We leased a Jeep Compass in August of 2021 and was told that the bumper to bumper warranty was for 36k miles or 36 months . The car now has problems with both FOBs but, the dealer will not fix them under warranty claiming that the warranty expired in January because the 36 months started NOT when I leased the car but, started when the dealer received the car about 8 or 9 months before they leased the car to me . They did NOT tell me that the car had only a 27 month warranty ,they said the warranty was for 36 months and they will not fix the car under warranty even though it only has 18K miles on it .
This is unfair ,unethical and should be held to be illegal .
if you can help me please do so .

Pros:
  • Drives well for the price of the vehicle and does have 4wd
Cons:
  • Dealer deceived us and trans and fobs failed

Preferred solution: I would like for Jeep to honor its representations as to the car's warranty . They told me the car had a 36 month or 36k mile warranty starting from the day they leased the car to us as a new car .

User's recommendation: Stay away from Jeep but, if you get a deal that seems fair and you want to take it go over EVERY detail and get the dealer to put the warranty representations in writing and have them note that they ( the dealer) will honor the warranty even if the manufacturer will not .

There is No One at JEEP, You Can Get Help From

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
There is No One at JEEP, You Can Get Help From

Jeep Company, I am needing your help. You see I have purchased 3 new jeeps in the last 7 years from a dealership in southern Ohio (2 jeep compass: 2017 & 2020 and a 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk Elite).

Other members of my extended family are also proud jeep owners. I have had no complaints till now. You see I was in heavy rush hour traffic July 7th driving the cherokee when I lost acceleration power, white smoke pouring out all around the car. Thankfully there was no wrecks for the drivers behind me with having no visibility from the smoke.

I was lucky to have gotten several lanes over to safely get the car off the highway but the entire time I was scared to death the car was going to engulf in flames and me being a fatality. Thankfully it did not catch fire but afterwards I was told from the dealership that it should have caught fire because the entire car was covered in gas and oil. Final engine mileage: 32,676.

I had the jeep towed to dealership using my AAA towing membership. The car was not looked at by the service department until 7/20/23.

I was told the engine blew and that they put an order in for a new engine but It would be at least on backorder for 60 to 90 days. The dealership told me that once chrysler had an ETA of engine delivery, then chrysler would put me in a rental car. Several days later after to not hearing anything from the dealership, I called for a status update. I was asked about on a previous oil change if I had the oil changed between oil changes on 8/1/2022 mileage: 20,514 to 5/27/23 mileage: 30,838?

I thought I had because I am always on top of that. I was told that this was going to be a problem because I had been 324 miles over on jeeps mileage limit and that your jeep rep for the dealership was voiding my warranty for neglect. The dealership told me there was no course of action for me to appeal or talk to anyone at jeep about this. Basically I am screwed on my $39,000 investment and that I will need to buy the engine outright and pay the dealership to put it in.

This is ridiculous! I dont have spare money lying around for this and this sounds absolutely petty! I only drive the car a couple of times a week. I telework from home and only report to my main office to work 1 or 2 times a week (highway miles).

I would think jeep engines would be more durable than that if 324 miles over would have been the cause. Please note when the oil was changed, there was no issues the service tech noted from the inspection. Nor did the car display any problems the 1840 miles after that oil change until the engine blowing, other than..Before my event on July 7th, the previous week I had an engine light come on. I called the dealership and talked to a service technician, I gave the details of what I was experiencing and the tech said it sounded like I had bad gas, and that once I ran it out; new gas will clear the engine light.

I only drove the car one time prior to July 7th event, and it was less than 20 miles.

Now, I want to point out a couple other things that are relevant:. dealership told me that my 2020 jeep is now the 4th 2020 cherokee with 2.0 turbo engine that they have had with this identical engine blowing up.No one in the service dept bothered to ask me anything before they diagnosed the failure as to what I seen or heard from the car when the engine blew. When scheduling an oil change appointment with the dealership, openings are at minimum 30 days out. So again, I cant believe that 324 miles over an oil change could truly be an issue.

In regards to the dealership with me being told that my warranty is voided out, I have asked for documentation to reflect your jeep rep decision. I am told they cannot give me anything because it was decided thru an email from your rep to the service manager.

I asked for a copy of that email and for the order that was placed with chrysler for the new engine, they cannot give me a copy of either. The diagnostic report the service department did for assessing the damage is:No oil or coolant, underneath is covered in bothA hole in the block from, connecting rodNo piston in #4 cyl. Its in the pan

The dealership suggest I have my car towed to a dealership outside your jeep reps district to get it fixed. My complaint is there is no one I can contact at jeep to explain any of this.

You can see from your customer service reps (notes) regarding the calls, I have made numerous calls asking for help. Your customer service reps tell me there has been no claims put in for my car, nor anything about my warranty being voided out. Therefore they really cannot help me. I have asked the reps to at least put me thru to someone that can help or I can explain too what i am being told the jeep reps is saying; each time I am told my call is being transferred, then either the call is auto hung up or the transfer sends me back to the greeting loop as If I just called again.

At this point, I am a very frustrated customer reaching out for help. I dont have a spare car to drive because of all this. It is now 1.5 months the car has sat at the dealership with being covered in the contaminates that I am sure has eaten the paint and clear coat, and there is no resolution as to how jeep is going to fix my car. If my warranty is being voided over 324 miles over an oil change, then please provide me documentation stating that.

If you agree this is totally ridiculous then please step in to either address your jeep rep, or have my car towed to a dealership outside his district to be fixed. Since this engine blowing up also seems to be a known problem to jeep with the 2.0 turbo engine..

Would Jeep like to save face for us both to have a win win, please buy the jeep back from me or put me in a new jeep. Just hopefully no one has died as a result of these engines blowing up and catching fire while being driven.

Please give me the courtesy of having someone from Jeep contact me and addressing these issues.

Customer Service is non existent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I called 11 days ago because I had been logged out of my app. The first rep closed the case the same day it was opened and when I called back 3 days later I was told I would get a new case number and someone would call me back I 1 to 2 days.

When I called on the 3rd day again I was told someone tried to call me but the call went straight to voice mail and they would escalate my issue and someone would get back to me in 1 to 2 days when I again called on the 3rd day and asked to speak to a supervisor I was told someone will call you in 1 to 2 days. Again on the 3rd day when I called again I was again told the supervisor tried to call you and the call went straight to voicemail. Finally on the 11th day I said just cancel the service. That they could do on the spot.

SMH, I tried one more time to resolve the problem and was told AGAIN someone will reach out to you in 1 to 2 days. Wouldnt you think if they cared at all they would have tried to call from another number or something, when I asked that I was told this is the only number we have I do NOT believe that is the case.

I checked my blocked numbers and dont see there number my spam blocker was never on so I said forget it and the icing on the cake is because they bill monthly I had to pay for the 11 days I had no service!!! I am past done.

JeepCares doesn’t care

Just paid for a new screen out of pocket. JeepCares was going to have me pay for a diagnostic at a dealer just to deny paying for a delaminating faulty screen that should be a recall. Luckily Im smart enough to press them to get a case manager to speak with me first before getting the diagnostic (after multiple calls and requests, more than a week later). Its sad because I do like my 2018 grand Cherokee. Once Im done with it I wont get another Jeep. Customer service is terrible.

This is my 3rd jeep. Got it brand new in 2018, going on close to 50K mi. with no issues until Jan. 2024. CHECK ENGINE light turned on, I dropped it off to a dealership in Avondale, AZ. Long story short, 4 RETURNS after pick up with different parts replaced. CHECK ENGINE light turns on the next day, I get AGAIN! At this point, I'm going to forward complain to corporate because I am OVER with incompetent mechanics, the long wait after weeks & NOTHING IS RESOLVED except the draining of my bank account!!!
