purchased a vehicle based on it having had the transmission replaced with a jasper unit. It is just outside the time limit of the warranty with only 40k miles on it and is failing. So my advice is to use a reputable local transmission shop to do your rebuild , not order a unit from out of town. All service procedures followed based on recommendations The vehicle was not used for towing or hauling large amounts of weight . It is just simply a...

In June 2016, a rebuilt 5.7 litre Hemi long block from Jasper was installed in my Dodge 1500 truck. We took a trip from Minnesota to Alaska from June 15th to July 22nd. During this period of time the truck had 4 oil changes. Beginning in September 2016 I noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine. I took the truck in to the shop to have it diagnosed. It had a bottom end noise. They told me that the rear crank was causing the noise and the...

I have a 08 Ford Ranger. At the time of the original transmission failure, it had 208k original miles. I bought the truck new, & put about 350 miles on it, five days a week. When my transmission went out, I knew where I needed to take it. By living just 20 miles from Jasper, IN, I had it towed to the JET(Jasper Engine & Transmission) facility. That was in 2012. They did not have a rebuilt transmission in stock for a Ford Ranger, that new. So...

I am own a repair facility. I purchased a $14,000 Diesel engine for an ambulance after the original unit broke a crank at 200k. Within 1000 miles the water pump went while ambulance was on a trip with a critical patient. Towed it in at over $400, fixed it and was reimbursed except for the $400 tow. 2k miles later, no run and fuel leak. Towed in, faulty fuel filter housing. Reimbursed all but $200 tow. 10k miles now and towed in for no run. Found...

My '99 Mustang (3.8L V-6) threw a rod, so I bought a Jasper rebuilt engine. It threw a rod within six months! So they replaced it, which cost me over $1,000 in labor, since I hadn't purchased the extended warrantee (I typically don't). About a year later I started the car and it blew the front main seal, and dumped most of its oil on my driveway. Then a few months later it blew the oil filter seal, and then did it again a few months later,...

Just spent $9000.00 on jasper engine for class c motorhome that i use for work. Picked it up and after 65 miles it lost oil pressure, towed it back to shop. They say a week to build new engine and i have to labor again !!! Besides the fact i have to pay $650.00 a week for hotel and a rental car and food bill . I should not have to pay labor again because of jasper defective engine

Anonymous What is the year make and model of your class c. Were other parts replaced such as water pump, radiator, oil cooler?

Anonymous

Anonymous Why are you paying for labor, jasper pays up to $65 hr. Book for warranty repairs. I would contact jasper directly to ask about your warranty and coverage.

I totally agree with everyone in regards to the quality of jasper engines. It cost me a arm and my leg to pay for a new engine in my 07 Chevy Silverado. I regularly change the oil, I'm easy on the truck it's self and take care of it like it was a child of mine. I was at 12k miles when I starting hearing problems. But the mechanic who used only jasper engines said nothing is wrong. So I go on with my life but then months later it gets louder and...

Perhaps the first question when considering this product needs is, "Who is building the engines?' Second question: "Where are these engines built? Third Question: "Does the person(s) doing the work know what they are doing? I have a hard time believing they hire only experienced engine builders. Could be more like an assembly line where the person(s) doing the work are like trained seals. They are taught a specific function without the...

Don't know where to begin but not a happy camper with Jasper. Just hard to stomach finding my Jasper engine is trash in just under 4 years and 41,000 miles. For a vehicle that is professionally maintained...boom...blown head gasket with no warning!! Are you kidding me?!!! Really?!!! I sure wish I would have checked reviews on Jasper! To top it off when I called to find out warranty info on the engine the fella I chatted was about as...
