J And R Appliance Repair Dryer Repair Review from Rex, Georgia

This company was recommended by my warranty company to repair my dryer. It has been two weeks now and it still doesn't work.

They claim it was the element and a fuse. 3-5 days for the part to come in on the 5th day they showed up. Took my dryer apart and it still don't work. Now it seems that starter button is broken.

He left with no paper work and have not informed the warranty company what part need to be ordered.

This is day 3. Worst company ever.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!

First, let me say if i could go no stars that would better represent J&R Appliance Services.

J&R were dispatched by fridgedaire to make a repair on my microwave after i coughed up the $300+ for the extended warranty. Their first visit was while i was away at work so my wife was the one letting them in. They sent 2 guys out who to my understanding did a horrible job. Didn't come with the tools necessary and were mad when told we didn't have a step ladder or extension cord for them. First visit ends with them supposedly diagnosing what was wrong with my microwave and parts were going to be ordered. We were told that we would receive a call to schedule a visit for them to put the parts in.

I was home this 2nd visit and had to listen to the main man, Andre talk about how the last guy didn't diagnose the problem correctly, didn't know what he was doing and was only making the repair harder. All this was being said as i was instructed to keep flipping the breaker while they try to install the new part. This was to no avail as they blew the NEW part and had to order an additional part on top of the one they already had brought.

2 weeks go by and we never received a call from the company as to when they'd be back out so I start trying to get a hold of people while I'm at work and have no luck. It wasn't until i started leaving angry messages that they finally had someone call me back telling me we weren't even in the system! So i start my climb up the customer service ladder and turns out its my fault we weren't in the system and i would need to call fridgedaire to get some kind of numbers so they could "start" the repair. When i call fridgedaire I'm met with great customer service and an option to refund my warranty but only if i am prorated. So I'm losing money everyday that J&R is making me wait so its almost as if I'm trapped into giving my money up.

Today they were supposed to come out, 3 MONTHS since they were first out here, and finally fix the microwave. They showed up, repair parts in hand and I'm thinking that today they will redeem themselves and i wouldn't have to post this but i was dead wrong. All the parts were installed but turns out this guys didnt bring a FUSE!? Thats been the one consistent part throughout all the visits that has been needing replacement and they forget it. And of course today is Saturday and that ONE Specific fuse can't just be bought so here i am having to wait again. To my frustrations i ask them to call their boss so we can solve the problem and the 2 just argued over who's phone to use.

Finally, i reached the breaking point, after 3 months of holding back I just couldn't watch them fiddle with the microwave and then leave as they were breaking cosmetic parts while trying to "diagnose" the problem. They were asked to leave and instead of doing as they were told decided to stay in my house and argue with me over who's fault it was.

TL;DR : Horrible Company Ethics, Horrible Customer Service and made the problem worse. I don't wish the stress they caused on my worst enemy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

DON'T do business with these idiots! They were the approved service provider that was sent through my home warranty company, and worked on both my dishwasher and microwave.

They never fixed the dishwasher, but that pales in comparison to what they did to the microwave. First they installed the new microwave incorrectly. Then, they took chunks out of our cabinet, and second didn't leave enough space for the vent to function, so now the vent motor is broken. After about a dozen calls, I've given up.

They don't return your calls after saying they will, and haven't fixed their shoddy work.

If you want a shop that doesn't know what they are doing, has no sound business practices, and is all-around shady, then J&R appliance is your company. If you want a solid company with experience, then you need to stay away from J&R Appliance.

Do NOT use them. They were calledfrom our Old Republic Home warranty due to our air conditioner not working.

We were informed we needed a new ac. Spoke to Old Republic and to J & R, both stating i wouldnt have to come out of pocket one cent. After waiting over a week we get a call from J & R stating we will now owe $640.00 for non covered costs from Old Republic. We obviously were upset about this due to our previous conversations.

We go back and forth with Old Republic and J & R Appliance. Finally J & R agree to do the work for $300.00 on a conference call with their Service Department. Old Republic sent the unit to them and i called J & R Appliance to see when they were going to install. Over 2 weeks of calling their "no customer service department" and having no luck with an appoinment.

I called Old Republic today and FINALLY I receive a call back from Old Republic stating that J & R Appliance is refusibg to do the work for the agreed $300.00, but they will do it for $640.00.

Why couldnt they tell us that 3 weeks ago? I guess they want you to be hot in your home and give into their overpriced out of pocket adjustments.

J&R lost service call paperwork and then no-show.

J & R was dispatched by Frigidaire to fix my refrigerator. Tech shows up on May 19th and states he needs to order a part and will call to set up a time to complete repairs.

After a month, no call. I finally had to call J & R on June 17th to get the status of the service call and apparently the paperwork was lost or something. A tech was scheduled to be here today (6/18/15) from 2:30-4pm. Tech calls at 2:30 and says he's on his way and will be here in a few minutes.

Two hours later he's a no-show. Called J & R and they state they cannot reach tech and someone will call me tomorrow.

Called Frigidaire back and told them the situation and they are dispatching another contractor. Now I have to start the whole process over again with another service contractor.

Would NOT recommend J & R ever!

Showed up to get Serial # and $75 for now work performed

AHS sent this unprofessional service to my home to repair a gas valve on my stove. One elderly man showed up with no tools, and obviously not strong enough to move the stove just to get the serial number off the stove, which had already been provided over the phone.

He said he needs to order parts that will take 5 days to come in! Are there no appliance parts stores in the Metro Atlanta area that have this part?

He did ask for his $75 service fee. AHS will be losing a costumer if they don't make this right.

Thats how home warranty companies work. You give up your rights to "choose" anything when you sign up for a HW company.

They supply the parts to the vendors.

We cant run out and buy a part for you.

You gave up that right...EVERY repair has to be approved through the HW company.

Its THEIR choice to repair or replace, not the service company...and most certainly not you...

Worst company ever!

I have had several experiences with this company through American Home Shield. All bad.

IF they show for the appointment they have no tools to do the repair. Once they were early and left before the appointment time. It took several days to get them back out. When they did come back they had no tools with them.

My latest experience was the Saturday before Christmas and they never showed for the appointment and never called.

I called the office several times and AHS did too. I had been without a refrigerator for 6 weeks. The Monday before Christmas they were to deliver a refrigerator between 1:00-1:30 pm. They finally showed at 2:30 with no appliance hand cart, and no tools to install the new refrigerator.

The refrigerator was laying on it's side in the back of a pick up truck. A friend that met them at my house had to help them unload and get the refrigerator inside. My friend had to remove the kitchen door and the handles off the refrigerator (they had no tools) and he also had to help them carry the refrigerator inside. After they got it inside they scratched my wooden floors very bad.

They were supposed to dispose of the old refrigerator but refused.

This company is terrible. Stay away and AHS too.

J&R Appliance Who Works for America Home Shield Are Scammers

This is the worst company (outside of AHS) that I have ever dealt with. My freezer has been broken for going on 5 weeks now. Nothing but excuses from them- tech in car wreck, need to order part and 7 day delay, oops, wrong part so another 5-7...Every time I was told someone would call me and they did not. 5 weeks without a freezer or ice....AWFUL COMPANY WITH ATTITUDE AND NO REGARD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT EVER CALL THEM, UNLESS YOU WANT THE WORST SERVIC OF YOUR LIFE.
