Nothing Sweet about this store at all. My daughter and I visit frequently ( its on our way home from after school ) but its not fun when an employee is following you and your 6 year old daughter. I thought I was being paranoid but my daughter started to look scared and shook up , so i asked her if everything was okay and she responded " yes mommy". She grabbed candy took it to the register and the same girl that was following us ran to the register as we walked up. She was so rude , my daughter said hi and she rolled her eyes at her and not one smile. Its a candy store slap a smile on your face at least for the kids smh . Well , we proceeded to check out as we walked out I noticed "chocolate covered raisins .. yum " so i stopped to grab a sample ( which is allowed ) I was facing my daughter and I noticed she looked terrified , i asked her " are you okay ? " and she said "yes mommy" but she looked scared , so i followed her little eyes and right behind me was the employee, tipping toeing over me with these eyes so vicious. I took my daughter and as we walked out she said " mommy i don't want to go back there anymore " . Thats when I had enough ,I called the store and the Manager ( Jenn ) answered and i explained what happened and she said " well I just walked in and I don't know whats going on " and i said " what do you mean ? I'm telling you what just happened " She said well if you want to discuss this further you have to come in". So i left my daughter with my neighbor and went back to the store. As i walked in the manager and that employee were whispering , when i walked through the door she left and I approached the manager, I introduced myself to her and as I began to speak to her she cut me off in a condescending way and said " you should take this up with the General manager " I responded " but im speaking to you , you asked me to come back to the store and discuss the matter". She whipped out the GM business card and said " you are welcomed to call him" I was so upset to say the least, my daughter was scared , i wasn't being heard and i went back so she can gave me a business card ?? ( it was awful) . So i walked up to the register and I asked the employee herself " why were you following my daughter and I ?" she ignored me completely , so i continued " You scared my daughter, she doesn't want to come back " and she responded " that's probably best, since you kind of people STEAL " my jaw dropped it took every ounce of my being not to snap . I said " are you crazy ?" we always come here and buy candy , what the *** are you taking about ?" Mean while the manager ( Jenn ) was behind me saying " don't say one more word " ( to her employee ) So i asked her " so you're racist ?" Employee said " Im not racist , I've seen you steal ?" Me: " Really , you've seen me steal ? " " So why haven't you stopped me ??? I am always here " Doesn't that make sense ?""call the police do something when someone is stealing ? Employee "because i knew you would act like that " Me. " you are a dummy , call the police if i steal ?" I said " you are racist and that's why you follow me around " " that's what you mean about " you people ". I stormed out and said to myself that I will post this story in as many places I can to expose that kind unprofessional that they have , and the fact that the manager was there to condone it and didn't want to hear a word I said , shows why that employee felt comfortable behaving in that manner . P.S. Want to visit an amazing candy store I suggest DYLANS CANDY SHOP , its a little out our way on 59th st but it 3 floors of candy heaven , and the service is exceptional and the staff is friendly and NOT racist
