Refused refund on same day order placed
On October 24, 2012 I was about to place an order costing over $400.00 to have my house listed for sale on the isoldmyhouse.com website. Before clicking the button to place the order I had to leave the house for an appointment and when I returned home I found my nephew had gone on my computer and placed the ad in error. That same day I decided against listing my house and called the company for a refund and explained the situation. I also sent them an email on the same day. I spoke with Annalynn (never got her last name)explained my situation and she said she would speak with Owen, the president of the company (again no last name)to authorize the refund. I also called my credit card company to stop the charge but their computers were down that day and I didn't realize I had 3 days to call Chase card services to have this charge stopped. So I didn't continue to pursue that avenue. I never heard back from the company so I waited a month to see if the charge was credited back to my chase card. When I saw no credit for the charge I called Annalynn in November and got her voicemail. I left a message to have her call me back. I called several times in November, December and January, left meassages and never heard back. Today I called the company and Jody Ryan (vice president of the company) answered the phone. When I tried to explain my situation Jody kept speaking over me saying that after 4 months they would not refund my money. The discussion became heated because Jody kept talking over me in a very aggressive manner while I was trying to explain what happened. I was getting frustrated because he wasn't willing to listen to me. In fact I had to repeat my name several times because he wasn't listening to me. When I explained why this has been going on for 4 months he said I couldn't have called all those times because the company had been sold and Annalyn had not worked for them for 3 months. He must not realize that Annalynn's number is still active and her voicemail still has her message on it. He also said I could not have called my credit card company because they would have stopped the payment from going through. He finally got my name right, looked up my account and admitted that there was a note on my file that I had called Annalynn the same day the order was placed and that she had talked to Owen and my refund request was denied. No one in the company ever called to let me know of this decision. Jody said that after 4 months they could not refund my money but that I could list my house with them for another time period. I explained to him that I am not planning on selling my house at all so that was not an agreeable solution to me. He again repeated that he would not refund my money after 4 months of having placed the order because they had already listed my house on MLS and had paid for that service. I then said that I would like to speak to the president of the comapany and Jody told me that he would not give me Ownen's number and he would not transfer me to Owen and that I could not speak with Owen because he had nothing to do with it. Jody said he was highest person in the company that I could talk to and that he was not going to spend all day arguing with me and that my money would not be refunded.
