Islander Boat Center Screwed me

On March 6, 2010 I purchased a 2010 Sea Fox 19` Center Console boat from Islander Boat Center, located at 185 West Montauk Highway Lindenhurst, NY 11757, at the Nassau Coliseum 2010 Boat Show.

I went to Islander Boat Center on Monday March 8, 2010 to finalize my paper work. Guy was my salesman who didn't know the difference between a boat and a car. He had the General Manager Tom helping him do everything, but Tom also didn't know the difference between a boat or a car. I wanted some extras put into the boat...but between the both of them I had to figure it out for myself from the brochure and there price books.

Then we come to Jack. What more can I say that he screwed me over for the warranty for my brand new Suzuki 140 HP Motor by telling me that it came with a 6 year warranty and ended up with a 3 year warranty instead.

Then there the owner John P. Scoglio. What more can I say than reading all the reviews about him screwing people over. He had told my Finance Company that I had picked up the boat on May 5, 2010...so he can get his money for the boat...when in all actuality a didn't get my boat till June 30, 2010, 4 months from when I purchased the boat.

I also got the same treatment from everyone else who works there....always lying and covering for that *** John P Scoglio. It was funny though, that when I called the finance and told them what he had done....I got a phone call within 5 minutes from when he hung up the phone with them.

Just a word to the wise....STAY AWAY FROM ISLANDER BOAT CENTER FOR ANYTHING...UNLESS YOU LIKE TO BE SCREWED OVER AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF.

Oh...and don t get them mixed up with Sea Fox Boats.....I spoke to the owner John from Sea Fox..and he helped me out alot...and I love the boat they built for me.

This is so true. I had a similar experience with a Maxum boat.

The names are real and the descriptions are right on the money.

They make used car salesmen look like alter boys

Islander boat sold my boat and kept the money

Islander boat in Lindenhurst sold my boat for $12,000.00 dollars last Aguust (2010)and I have been trying to get the money from that sale since.

This is Nov.

and every time I call no one is available to talk to me and never return phone calls. I was told many times I have to speak to the owner, John Scoglio, who of course is never there or on his way in.

I even had my attorney call with negative results. At this point I am notifying Suffolk County consumer affairs, Suffolk Police Dept.

(Grand Larceny)and will have to take this matter to court. As far as I am concerned Islander Boat Center Stole my boat.....

oh one more thing. i was standing on the dock behind my boat in berg an point when it collapsed.

i lost prescription sunglasses, new phone, and camera. total was about 1500. wasn't really hurt just wanted to replace the stuff. gave jeff the parts manager my paperwork for the cost.

After waiting like a week i call and he tells me the owner doesn't want to give me money rather take it out in trade. I took a free winterization and winter storage.

Islander Boat Center is not a car dealership you douchbags..

I'd like to comment on how pissed I am about people thinking that their new boat is a new car. "We bought new so we wouldn't have these problems" is what one couple repeated over and over again to the service manager as I stood waiting my turn to purchase a gallon of two cycle oil for my boat.

After all the griping from who I'm assuming was the husband, the wife got into the mix. They expected Islander Boats to pick up there boat from East Patchogue, the day they called, and bring the boat to the marina on the gas that Islander should purchase and then get reimbursed by the manufacturer - in lieu of a mobile visit to their boat at their slip. Turns out that the pillow package option that they ordered for their 30 footer, was in the boat, but didn't appear to match the color of the upholstery that came with the boat originally. THEY WANTED TO HOLD A BROCHURE NEXT TO THE PILLOWS AND THE GENERAL INTERIOR COLOR, AND ASK ISLANDER PERSONNEL IF THEY THOUGHT THE COLORS MATCHED.

My head did a 360 when I realized that this was their only problem.

I'm writing this review on behalf of Islander Boats because, the entire time, and through all the finger pointing and accusations, Islander personnel not only kept their cool, but incorporated additional personell, immediately, to try to accommodate these unruly people. They wanted a fight and didn't get one.

I made my purchase, slowly so I could further eavesdrop, as this was now comical, and ultimately watched as these people walked out of the service office with smiles on their faces using the words "sorry" and "we apologize" repeatedly.

WAY TO GO ISLANDER PERSONELL - YOU'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES ! I'm impressed - not so easy to do.

Islander boat center / Lindenhurst screwed me over

I recently purchased a brokerage boat from Islander boat center in Lindenhurst , New York . What a bunch of *** thieves !

I purchased a 23 ft maxum , when my mechanic went down to the dealer for a sea trial , he was told " the keys can't be found " That was Guy , the boat was in his care . Could'nt find the keys huh ? I wonder why ? Maybe because the boat needed a gimbal bearing and there was water in the boot !

All would have been picked up by my mechanic . Next came the financing , the weasel of a finance officer jack , first jacked up the price of the trailer that was purchased along with the boat , several hundred dollars more then what was agreed upon . He ( jack ) also tried to help me obtain more money from the owners to fix the repair . $200.00 was his answer to $1,800.00 worth of repairs .

Big deal ! The owner john is a nasty *** with an attitude that no retail owner should have . Islanders answer to all of this was to have me bring my new boat to thier service center , bergen point . I was told that because of the problems I was having , they would work out a deal with the cost of the repairs .

The labor was suppose to be cut in half , it wasn't ! They lied again ! The repair estimate came to $1,800.00 ! Parts was less then $200.00 What *** !

I would not like see anyone buy from them , do not trust them , typical salesman . They not only lost a future sale with me , but I have now made it my lifelong mission to tell everyone how I got screwed over by them .

Do not buy from Islander boat center ! You will be sorry !

I totally agree, from Guy who sold me my boat then doesnt know anything to Jack who finances the boat and screws you over with the warranty and constanly *** you , to John the Nasty Owner who Jack Speaks for and agrees John shouldn't talk to people cause he doesn't know how to Treat his Customers with Respect , to Tom the manager? who covers for John , to Marty who Hides John.I will continue to spread the words Do Not Go To Islander Boat center they will *** over too!
