Purchase NAPA IronClad chevy 350 motor from napa auto parts in Avondale AZ. Went out with in 700 miles lost 3 cylinder.

Called Napa they told me to start a warranty claim NAPA IronClad. I started the warranty claim i did all the test and sent all pictures to them of my finding for them to tell me they are going send me another replacement.

They gave me all kinds of excuses of what I didn't do right and that these motors don't just go out.

I'm out about $3000.00

Awful engine and company

Napaironcladmotors On 7-31-23, I paid $6000.00 to a local shop, Cascade Motors, in The Dalles, OR to install a NAPA Iron Clad motor. I paid extra for the better warranty.

The day I picked up my vehicle, the shop said it has a rod knock right out the box.

The shop told me they called and obtained warranty approval to change over the windage plate from my old motor because the crank was hitting it on the brand new motor. They had approval to use used parts on a new motor.

Because of this issue I had to rent a car for four days. I was unable to run my business in anyway without my service van and out $400.00 for the rental car. The shop told me to come and get my van.

I drove it away after giving them the balance of $3000.00 and returned immediately because of all the noise. They looked at it and did something because it ran better but everyday I start the van, the engine makes awful noises knocking and grinding. The sound is loud and awful.

When I drove it to the Napa store the customer service guy came right out and said wow that needs to be replaced ASAP. This statement was within 24 hours of it being installed.

When I finally got the manager to call me back, he said too bad you have to contact that motor company.

I said its NAPA Iron Clad Motors thats you your actual business name NAPA.

I did call them starting a claim on this brand new NAPA motor and trying to get my money back for my rental car and lost wages and they hung up on me while I was being very nice. They said the warranty was remanded and I was liable for all repairs and labor. So I tried the email finally got a claim number submitted everything and videos of the unsafe vehicle Im now driving and unable to go to work. I find this behavior unacceptable, unprofessional and shocking.

I demand that this engine be replaced it was bad and needed warranty from day one and it is unsafe.

Furthermore, Im out a lot of money and work and its truly unbelievable the way this is being handled. I have contacted every shop within 100 miles in two states and they refuse to do any warranty on this new engine that was bad from day one.

Maybe its because of your 2.4 business reviews ?

I am now on engine number 3!!! First one locked up going down the highway, second one started leaking oil like a sieve, and now the third one took six weeks to receive and get installed and this is in less than 2 years.

DO BETTER!!

And, labor only reimbursed at $50 per hour. No service costs this now!!!

Napa, BB auto and I (RICHARD MASSEY) OWNER OF TRUCK are waiting for Dwight, to call us back...

WARRNETY CLAIM # WC-121709. I ordered my engine through Napa Auto in Tifton Ga on 9/19/22 Phone #229382**** Eng was received and taken to shop where Eng would be installed at BB AUTO Phone # 229382****.

BB auto says that Eng was not getting oil pressure . After about a week Dwight calls shop and talks to MARK TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND tells him to try another oil pump. Well, the way I see it is I paid $4500 for an Eng that has o miles and should be working. Would you want to repair an Eng that now that could be damaged having no oil pumping through it.

So, this is where we are at waiting on Dwight (Ext#3132) to call us back. If I had known what was in some of the revewis about these Eng I would have looked else where.

My truck has been sitting in the shop now for 3 weeks and the shop has told me I am holding them up and no telling how much more he is going to charge me because of of a faultey eng. Please send us a replacement eng so I can get my truck .

Replacement engine defective too

Has anyone tried to get reimbursed for a rebuilt Napa engine since the replacement engine Napa sent is also defective? Vehicle is now sitting at repair shop since April not running, 2 full days of labor charges outstanding and repair shop is not at all interested in putting in a third.

I live on an island in Alaska with a few repair shops. I plan on going to Napa store in hopes of getting a refund for the first engine.

Engine warranty not being honored.

We purchased an engine from our local Napa store and opted for the expensive engine for the better warranty, so we thought. We are having trouble getting the lifters on the #8 cylinder to stop making lifter noise. After 3 attempts and several hours latter we decided to replace all of the rocker nuts with the thinking that they usually don't replace them. this was the advice of a certified GM mechanic. The lifters came loose again even sooner than before, so we took it to the local Chevy shop and they had determined after inspection that several rocker bushings were scorned or wore badly.

Ok so they send up the parts from Texas we pay the shop $300.00 and that still didn't stop the noises. Upon completing a full compression test they discovered that the #1cylinder has low compression. We then called Ryan at 800-831-**** x2 Napa Ironclad and he wants us to send our engine to him at no charge but if they determine that its not there fault then we pay to have it shipped back and forth to us and get to buy another motor.

The local mechanics Vanoy Chevrolet 641-623-**** of Montezuma, Iowa upon his request have determined it is faulty and that the warranty should be honored.

My local Napa store owner has told me they have had trouble with Ironclad and has asked is regional manager to stop carrying there product. The local Napa store 641-623-**** owner is being very helpful with this situation and understands what is happening and will most likely be cleaning up ironclads mess financially if they don’t. Since the local Napa owner knows the local mechanics personally that worked on my suburban, they are in agreements the warranty should be fulfilled.

I have been inconvenienced for months with this and have now spent more money than they will ever repay.

Thanks Ironclad of Napa.

Verdict is out so far. I have a 4.0L 6 cylinder Napa Ironclad engine that is only 10 months old and have had nothing but problems that have gotten worse over a very short period of time.

Unfortunately I was on a road trip when I threw a rod and didn't really have the chance to do reviews or a choice of engines.

I wish I did because so far most of the reviews I've read on these engines are not good. We'll see if Napa will honor the warranty because I'm getting the same lifter noise that my original engine made before it threw a rod.

I'll be making a claim this week on an engine that has been nothing but trouble . My experience is similar the repair shop and local Napa store agree, the warranty should be honored

I purchased a ironclad reman from NAPA in Carrollton Georgia and it was a absolutely fantastic experience. The engines runs great and they delivered it to mechanic for the install and picked up the core..AAA+ rating for Napa iron clad remanufactured engines
