IPOD can't connect to internet

iPOD touch 4th generation. Several apps including their own iTunes cannot connect to the internet/server. I download their apps they don't work and then they want me to pay for tech support?? Called for tech support and b/c i'm outside of my 90 day warranty they want to CHARGE ME to provide tech support to use their device. I'll not bother buying anymore on iTunes either. This is nothing but an overpriced music device. Save your money and don't bother buying Apple products. If they last longer than ninet days you have to pay to have someone tell you what's wrong with the thing.
