I agree with the previous reviews - David Carver is as unprofessional as they come. I had a pleasant conversation with him - he was first quote - and then today, when he called to ask where we were on the move, I told him I had moved to another company. He asked "why", and I told him it was based on their "C" BBB rating. He tried to cover this up by saying, "So, you based your decision on an A+ rating?" I told him that the rating was a solid "C", and he called me "pathetic" before hanging up on me.

July 17 2018 Interstates van lines US DOT 283****, ICC MC 949446 are some scammers and they damaged a television they dropped it safely when they transferred it from one truck to another and it fell in a corner of the TV no longer works, they damaged a dining table, they broke a lamp. the estimate was 859 cubic feet for $ 2,500 equivalent to $ 2.91 cubic feet. They came to my house in the truck and said that there were 1100 cubic feet and that it was $ 3.55 cubic plus 10% surcharge gas plus $ 399 for packing materials in other words they wanted me to pay $ 4000 .... after discussing it they left at $ 3500 but left things in the house like a plastic plant a game table, books, worth $ 500 and the damage cost $ 450 for the TV, $ 50 for the lamp, Dining table $ 500. Beware of the seller David Carver is a liar he said that I would not worry about the cubic feet because this was a flat rate that included everything for $ 2500 When I called him and made a complaint, he hung up the phone and did not answer again. These Movers Suck

You, the Interstates Moving linesDid not deliver on date promised, were 2 months late, many items missing or damaged, bill went from $4,000 to $6500, customer service severely lacking, furniture not reassembled, initially didn't tape took finish off of many items, van stayed in Fla. for over a month, workers expected me to buy them cold drinks , " More details, is too short" is not a grammatically correct sentence in the English language. "More details, is too short" is not acceptable as proper use by well-spoken Americans. "More details, is too short" sounds like whoever put that phrase on the website doesn't have a good command of the native language of the United States. Your company is guilty of deception, fraud, misrepresentation, bait & switch practices, not returning customers calls or addressing nor explaining the reasons why my things weren't delivered on 9/26/18 as I requested and all-around ineptitude. - Laurie Ellison O'Toole Taylor

The Worst Ever Moving Experience. Dont trust Interstate Van lines

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had a worst experience with these movers in all the phases of my move. They initially agreed for everything while giving the quote, but at the time of pick-up they resfused the same thing. The movers, Managers are very rude and reckless. Let me elaborate my whole experience. I talked to a sales person, Mr Rob for a quote and gave the full inventory list. And he estimated 450 cu.ft and quoted $1650 for the same. Some other companies quoted me for lesser price, but based on thier sweet promises, i opted them and later realized that all are false promises. I clearly told him multiple times that I'm not going to pay a penny more for this move for the same inventory list and he agreed to that. The moment I paid the initial deposit, He stopped answering my calls. The pickup driver called me 15 mins prior reaching my home. Before he loads my stuff into the truck, he estimated the same inventory will occupy 750 cu.ft and they will charge upto $3300 for the move, which is more than double of the quoted price. And they said that they wont load the stuff unless I agree and sign a document for the price. I talked to a manager, Mr Vector Holmes and he was telling that I have to pay that amount since the inventory occupied more than the estimated cu.ft, though I stick to the same inventory list. ( I only have 3 king 8-pc comforter sets extra than the inventory list). Mr Vector was shouting on me and insisted to sign that document. He promised that he will give a discount on the next business day, since my move was on Saturday.I told the truck driver to load upto 450 cu.ft only. and he loaded few of my stuff and told that he reached filling 450 cu.ft. He didn't even measure it and I have no proof that they filled 450 cu.ft. I really don't understand how he estimated cu.ft just by looking it. He partially loaded my stuff and left. I called Mr Vector on the next day for the discount and he said that he cant give any discount because the driver incorrectly estimated the cu.ft and he loaded 575 cu.ft instead of 450 cu.ft. This is absolutely incorrect. I know the driver didn't even load 450 cu ft, but Vector told that he loaded more than 450. I fed up with this company and asked them to deliver my stuff. The delivery guys are very very rude and reckless. They delivered my items broken and also missed few and told us to claim for the broken and missing items later and charged full price. They walked on our mattress with their dirty shoes and spoiled it and when we asked they were shouting at my wife. We ordered a pizza for them in lunch and they took it and threw on the floor and we cleaned it. Since those guys are having bulky personalities, we afraid of arguing with them. And after they left, I've been calling Rob, vector and the companies customer care services to claim for the broken and missing items. It's been 3 weeks, but no one is answering my calls. To conclude,I was quoted 1600 for the full move, but I paid 2300 only to move half of my stuff. I'm not recommending this company to anyone.

Interstate Van Lines provided a terrible moving experience

Do not use Interstate Van LInes

Total scammers! I asked for a quote and then declined it because it was too much for what I was moving. They kept calling me with lower prices, until I agreed. I signed a Binding estimate that clearly states they cannot charge me more. They tried to charge me over $1,000 more. I was in another state when they moved me, so I did not see that they didn't cover any of my furniture which arrived filthy and beat up. I have an oil painting that they charged me $75 to "wrap". When it arrived, it was taped loosely with an open Home Depot box from my former home. The sides of the canvas are dirty. They also marked everything as scratched and dented at the pick up site - even things that I wrapped myself that they didn't see. I didn't get my belongings until almost a month later. At no time could anyone tell me where my things were. The owner is a joke - I argued with him numerous times and told him I was filing a complaint on him. He agreed to not charge me any more than I was quoted; however, he continued to complain that he should be making a profit on me. I have filed a complaint with the US Department of Transportation, which has been validated. They will receive a fine; however, the scammers are not responding to me to get any type of a refund. Do not use them.

The old "bait and switch" - Do NOT use this company!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My family relocated from Atlanta, GA to Washington, DC and this company started out being very engaged and professional BEFORE they got the deposit. After they got the deposit, they never called back. After calling them multiple times to schedule the moving appointment, they finally set a date and time. The missed the start date by a whole day, which was the beginning of the chain of events. When the movers finally got to the house a whole day (and 3 hours late), they changed the price and began "nickel and diming" me for everything....including pillows that were going on outside furniture. They changed the price from what was originally quoted, so they took less. The driver stated that he could have the furniture delivered by Monday.....and this was Saturday. My family and I left Georgia and came to Washington, DC awaiting the furniture. Day 1, 2, 3, and 4 passed, and the company did not know where our things were. On day 5, (Friday), the drivers finally came and would not unload the truck because of a discrepancy in the billing. The driver that picked up the furniture wrote a different amount on the shipping order. Luckily, we kept a copy. We thought we were going to have to call the police and report them. Please don't use this company. David is one of the owners and he is crooked. This was a huge mistake and we are happy that it is over. Find another company.....and make sure you read their complaints.

These guys are based out of Fort Pierce Florida. They go under the real name All american van lines and pose as a family owned carrier out of New Jersey.

In fact the 2 owners are career criminals and both have spent time in prison. Once people catch on to their speel, they change their name and start over again.

Damaged High Value Items not replaced to value

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am an army soldier that was relocated from Ft. Jackson, South Carolina to Ft. Campbell, Tennassee. Interstate Van Lines was selected by the Army to handle to relocation. Upon delivery serveral items were damaged and not replaced to the value I set for them as was promised by the packers and the field agent that assessed my property. During the claims process, the Senior Claims Officer I delt with hid behind regulations and contracts that the company had with the Army, and did not honor the promises made by the companies agents. In the end, I was forced to settle for half the demamded value of a very sentimental items I had on the high value item list and half the value I set on a box that WAS NOT DELIVERED! The undelivered box did not have its contents listed by the packers, so the company was able to choose its reimbersment value, which was half the value I had placed on it. Interstate Van Lines has unscrupulous business practices and does not honor promises made by its agents.

We sincerely regret the unfortunate loss of these items and have made offers to reimburse you based on the value of each item as we have been able to best determine. We have also requested any information that would help establish that value.

It is virtually impossible to evaluate sentimentality since it varies with each individual and each circumstance.

Our offer is not only generous, it is in keeping with our contractual agreements with the U.S. Military.

The Military does have an appeal process for military members that we have pointed out to you and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Crooks! They packed my shipped and the workers stole many items from me. I am military and the process that is involved to get things back is insane!! I am not giving up but the day that the military went to contracting out moving someones household good was a huge mistake! Interstate Van and Lines needs to do a better job when hiring people. Furthermore when something is missing the process needs to be much easier. There are honest people out there that would love a decent paying job and not jerks that steal my stuff. Again Interstate Van Line, Inc you suck!!!

Interstate prides itself on total customer satisfaction and we will do everything within our ability to make things right. This is a complete JOKE!

My household goods were picked up on June 12th 2013 and it is now July 5th and no delivery yet. Interstate keeps giving the excuse that they are looking for a driver. It should not take a month to receive household goods. As of July 2nd our shipment got switched over to Atlas and we are told we should have our stuff by 11 July.

How convenient that I go back to work the day before delivery after taking 30 days off to make sure I could help my wife unpack the house.

I have a 16 month old daughter that has been sleeping on a crib mattress on the floor because of these idiots! This is exactly how they treat military people I guess.

Thank you for your feedback and I sincerely apologize that your delivery was delayed inconveniencing you and your family. Our Customer Service Claims department is available to handle any inconvenience claim(s) you are entitled to under Military Regulations.

We will assist you with the claims process as needed.

The inconvenience claim won't make up for the delay you encountered, but it is in place to offset some expenses incurred during the wait period. If you'd like to reply and provide me your contact name & the best time to reach you, I'll be glad to assist.

Thank you for your time and feedback as our company strives to satisfy all our customers and continually improve our processes.

Dear Mr. Mangiardi:

In response to your recent post. When your call was received, we immediately requested a tracing with Atlas Van Lines for your missing tote that Academy said was not delivered to them. This may account for the missing monitor, quarter collection, and possibly the small fire safe. None of these items are listed on the descriptive inventory as tendered. Also, there were no missing items listed at the time of delivery on your notice of loss or damage.

The filing procedure is a military requirement and application program developed by the military not the moving industry. Your frustration with the process is incorrectly directed at Interstate. Your claim was received from the military DPS system on 4/5/11 and has been processed for inspection and estimate of repairs. We except to have your claim resolved well within the settlement time requirements placed upon us by military regulations.

We understand that the inspection was on 4/22/11 and the process usually takes about 10 days for us to get the report.

Interstate prides itself on total customer satisfaction and we will do everything within our ability to make things right.

Recently I allowed this company to haul to loads of mine out to CA from TN. These loads, were picked up on the 12th and called in as delivered on the 15th and the 18th. I only found out on the 21st that these loads had not delivered from the customer. After calling for proof of delivery, the following day they inform me that these have not delivered. Furthermore, the trucking company was demanding COD prior to delivery! I don't have a problem paying COD, but don't lie to me about these loads being delivered on these days and then turn around and tell me these will not unload without prior payment. This is not a good company to work with as they lied! Something has to be done about these types of carriers that make all of the whole industry look bad. Needless to say, I payed them so that they would get these loads delivered finally! We will not be working with these guys again!

We contracted with them to ship a load from KY to CA on August 15th - load delievery scheduled for August 24. Payment was 25% upfront and 75% at delievery.

It is now September 5 and the load is still in transit. They informed us the remaining 75% would need to be paid before truck would make delievery ($3K more). Called to inquire about filling a loss claim on the load and informed the carrier does not have coverage.

I have certificate that states they do and now notice the dates on the cert have been doctored to show current dates. Stay away from the carrier.

Guest

This carrier was 10 days late on an expedited shipment. Our customer had to shut down a portion of their operation and lost boat loads of money as a result.

The customer refused payment and we lost out big time.

The carrier is now apparently calling the customer direct and demanding payment. This is the worst outfit I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with and I wouldn't load them again even if it were a load of garbage going 2 blocks down the road.

Guest

We're having the same experience with these guys .. refusing to deliver a load in SC until we wire the freight payment to them. We got them from Getloaded but when I checked with them Interstate Lines Inc is not a member so they're using someone else's login.

We have the Sheriff's dept contacting them!

5/9/11 same story carrier loaded 4/30/11 Roanoke, VA - San Francisco, CA. Terrible communication the entire time, the have yet to give me a solid answer and do not even answer the majority of the time. This load has yet to deliver and the customer is furious.

this carrier booked a load with me from Bellingham,wa to somerset,ma and never showed up, but all day said he would be there in a minute. they are huge liars and i will report this to internet truck stop and DAT service

Guest

3/29/11 This carrier is doing the same thing to our company as I type this. They picked and refused to del load till they get paid in full. Please spread the word so they will go broker sooner the later.
