Terrible Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I saw a recent review elsewhere and felt compelled to share, too. Where to even begin?

The Rowleys (inept founders) were ousted, that's a positive, but they and their top people ran this business deeply into the dirt for years. So much is broken. For starters, their business offerings, training programs, corporate culture, systems, and top leaders are the worst I've ever experienced. By far.

I've experienced so much done right at other companies, but not at ICE. Even their logo is cringeworthy, yet not as cringeworthy as Mr. Crowder's (c-suite) strategic use of company staff and resources to have serial extramarital intraoffice affairs (including with a Rowley offspring). Want to become a department head?

Doing lines of adderall with him in his office while having an affair with him just may help you get there. How he still has his post (and marriage, but then again, that, too, began as an internal cheating fling, which resulted in pregnancy) is rather astonishing. What a liability. Then there's newly minted VP Spatafore who requires (under fear of termination) her team to sit on 9-hour zoom calls daily so she can watch and micromanage everything they do.

Like Crowder, she's only really worked at ICE and was taught by the Rowleys that cutthroat behavior comes before teamwork, that fear-based micromanagement is leadership, that stealing ideas despite having none of one's own, that one's own abilities/talents don't matter when you have a revolving door of terrified employees to exploit, that constant turnover is good, and that putting one's position far before one's family = success at ICE.

It's honestly sad, because incompetent cutthroats without ethics or morals mostly steer the ship, and it's only ever been that way. None of this would fly at another company, but those people already know and fear that, so they keep hanging on with all claws to avoid facing their own music.

Relationship with RCI Travel Packages

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have reached out 2x's to inform both RCI Travel AND International Cruise and Excursion (ICE) about the inoperable link to RCI Travel Packages website whereas the functionality to purchase wine does not work also exist a significant, and I mean SIGNIFICANT, drop in quality and quantity of products offered on the RCI Travel Packages shopping domain.

I would think that ICE as fiduciary to RCI to take more proactive approach in addressing customer concerns.

Folks lay of over $2k with the promise that they receive all these "savings dollars" to be used against the purchase of hotel stays, wine and various consumer products. Given the real lack of savings one receives it risks consumers not to be able to consume the $2k in savings in the short 24 month time frame.

I want to know who is responsible for the functionality of the RCI Travel Packages website and why there is no direct customer service contact info to point out these concerns?

Addendum: RCI has now removed any association to purchase merchandise and wine on their travel packages website which IMO means that they sold a fraudulent service

Poor Service From Ice

We bought a vacation voucher from Encore Travel thru a Marriott Program. We love Marriott and have owned a time share for 24 years.

They are not the problem. Here it is. ICE is a travel agency Encore uses. We have been waiting 5 weeks to hear from ICE and are unable to get a response.

Marriott is now involved and they are also having a hard time hearing from them. Please do not use this company. Use Vacations To Go.

We have used them many tines and are very good! Never a problem.

Worst Agency Experience Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Alaskan Cruise: 6/2 a 6/9

Worst agency I have ever dealt with! They are complete scammers!

I booked a cruise with them and was told I would receive two coupon booklets valued at $500 each. I was told the coupons would offer savings on excursions, drinks, casino, etc. These booklets were supposed to be in our room upon boarding the ship. They were not.

While on our cruise, I contacted this agency three times and sent an email. The third call, I was told we would definitely receive the booklets in the evening. But guess what - never did.

Got home and called. Their solution to this $1000 value I never received is $50!!!!

It is insulting and clearly they do not care about customer service. I have placed a call with the BBB because I was deceived and not given what I paid for.

I have also asked their management staff to call me and no one has. Stay away from this agency!!!!!!

Current Call Center Manager - Employee Blain Edward Scribner - Scammer

The Ice Gallery has hired someone by the name of Blain Edward Scribner. This person was under investigation from the Arizona Attorney General's office for fraud, racketeering and money laundering.

There is a cease and desist order against this individual doing any telemarketing in the State of Arizona because he is a thief. Why in the world would anyone hire him and I would not use your company because you clearly did not do your homework when it came to hiring this individual. A judge found Chalonne Foerster, Blain Scribner, and Vanessa Fitzgerald violated the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act and the Arizona Telephone Solicitation Statute. The court also found the three defendants along with Kyle Evans (Chalonne Foerster’s husband) and Patrick Passarelli (Vanessa Fitzgerald’s husband) were members of an unlawful enterprise that engaged in racketeering activities.

Now this is weird. I just stopped working for ICE after 17 years there...

My boss before I worked there? Blaine Scribner at Vistana (now Sheraton). I'm not surprised at all they would hire him.

Putting him in management is even more fitting because ICE is truly become the worst company to work for. The management culture there is disgusting.

Thank goodness this information is available to the public. I was going to use Ice Gallery and will refrain. People like this individual should be in jail.

International Cruises & Excursions Platinum Rewards is a Scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was initially contacted by them a few years ago by phone. I joined so I could get discounts on cruises. When my initial membership was about to expire, I was contacted by an "Account Representative" and convinced to upgrade to a better membership which cost $1500.00 I think my wife and I booked one trip through ICE with that.

A year later, I was contacted by another account representative. He convinced me to upgrade to an ICE Platinum Rewards. It cost $900.00 more money. It was a ten year membership and gave us bonus points. We got a stay in a two star hotel in Maui through them. We also got upgraded to 100,000 points. The account representative told us he would be available to take care of our needs personally. He also told us the 100,000 points were good for the ten year membership.

Whenever we wanted to use our 100,000 points to go somewhere, the account representative was never available. We left many messages but never got a call back. When we contacted the general number to book reservations for our points they never had anywhere decent just places in the U.S. in the middle of nowhere. We never heard from our account representative again.

About a month ago I got a call from ICE. It was from a new "Account Representive". He wanted to know if I wanted to upgrade to upgrade to another plan. I asked him if he could help me use the 100,000 points I had to go to Tahiti. He told me I no longer had the 100,000 points because they expired. He said he could help me get back into my platinum rewards plan if I pay him an additional $1500 but I wouldn't have the points. I told him the ten years was nowhere near expiring. He told me I never paid the $29 annual renewal fee after the two year initial period. I told him I never got a bill. I was also told that my points would expire after two years and I was never contacted by ICE to tell me they were about to expire. He told me that it is not ICE's responsibility to let me know any of those things. He said he would be my personal concierge if I paid the $1500.00. I asked him why I only get contacted by ICE when they want more money. I told him I already had a "personal concierge and he never told me any of those things, he only contacted me when ICE wanted money. He told me that that was their job.

I.C.E. is a total scam. They only care about up-selling members not servicing their needs. Avoid them at all costs.

P.S. The email you sent does not exist according to google, and attempts to find a president's line on our vacation center have also proven impossible, so I am unsure if I will be able to contact you. Perhaps your response is as much as a scam as your program, just way of making other consumers think you are actually trying to resolve my problem.

Your company is the biggest bunch of scammers. Your product sucks as does the service.

You say you offer premium locations at fair prices. The locations we tried, were absolutely Rat infested *** holes. The last vacation in Barbados was horrific. I ended up having to stay elsewhere at an additional cost of over 42,500 dollars.

I pre-paid my lifetime dues and have requested a refund or partial refund and you basically told me to screw off.

I strongly suggest AGAINST purchasing anything from ICE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I work closely with nearly every travel provider world wide and have for over 2 decades. Companies like Disney, Royal Caribbean, Sandals, Sheraton, PGA and many, many others hire me to review their retailers from the inside without the company knowing.

First off, the company uses an extremely high pressure sales technique that tends to *** off more potential customers than they land. A throw back to the old used car salesmen days. Especially concerning their phone sales force.

They are dishonest and break the law. This is what's most disturbing to most travel providers. ICE and their corporate structure is unaware that most of the industry knows they break the law when it comes to informing their potential customers that they can cancel at anytime within 10-30 days, depending on the state. In fact, they literally threaten to fire sales people who stay within the confines of the law and inform the customer or potential customer. Why the state of Arizona hasn't fined them is amazing to me. My investigation suggest they may have friends in the prosecutors office.

They run a sweat shop. Their turnover rate of employees is one of the highest I've ever seen in the industry in over 20 years. They burn through employees like a wild fire out of control.

A losing configuration. ICE makes available travel on a schedule so tight that they average person will never be able to take advantage of it. This is their business model. Unused travel is how they make the profit. Most customers will never use what they pay for and end up losing money in the long run because few can travel 6 times in 2 years or less.

Packages never include airfare. The prices seem OK on the surface, but when airfare on other consideration are added up, you can find far better deals in the marketplace.

Owners are former timeshare scammers. The husband and wife team that head ICE have had so many complaints levied against them when they started as timeshare scammers, I literally could not count them all.

Management is inept. They only hire relatively young and extremely inexperienced people to run positions they have no education or experience in. They profile and hire only people who want money first, customer service last. If they can, they ***. The also hire many ex-cons and criminals. These types fit the profile they are looking for.

Of the more than 600 companies I have reviewed from the inside over the last 25 years, they rank dead last in customer service. Only when you threaten legal action will they finally heed your request.

They are only tolerated, but highly disliked by the industry providers. Most of their travel providers distinctly dislike the company, but deal with them anyway. Disney reps personally told me they wouldn't do business with ICE if they were the last company on earth.

My review is harsh, but it's dead on accurate. My clients depend on it being accurate, and it is.

It's a sweat shop for travel and everyone gets screwed except the owners John and Marcia Rowley.

Guest

I was in the travel industry from 1986 until 1998. In those days this company would not have survived.

But the laws have changed to protect scammers like these which rip-off the consumer. John and Marcia, the owners have no ethical morals. They will not only rip-off the customers, but their own employees. The only way to stop a company like this is to change the laws back to what they originally were.

Enforce the telemarketing laws already in place.

Guest

My experience as an internal employee was also negative. I was concerned about some sales tactics, but it's not an area I worked in before so I have no expertise there.

I experienced management as inexperienced comparative to other experience I've had with great skilled managers in the past.

I didn't see consistent demonstration of the corporate or human right values that fit me and ultimately I'm glad to be out of there.

I would not recommend this employer for open members of the LGBT community or my personal social circle.

Sears Vacation Package with Resturants.com is useless

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

An incentive to attend Sears sales meeting for vacation and cruises Sears give out $200.00 of gift cards to use at selective restaurant.com Most of the listed restaurants do not honor the value and while most are low end restaurants including your end of the block deli that sells sandwiches. Check reviews on restaurant.com to find hundreds of reviews relating how bad it is to use these cards; even if bought on a face value in denominations of $25., $50.

etc. Most restaurants if they honor the value requires that you spend $50.00 in food first before you can redeem a $25.00 card value for a discounted $5.00 In other words you'll spend $75.00 and save $5.00 with the $25.00 card value.

Be Aware of Sears Vacation Layaway sale practice. MISSLEADING SALE PRACTICE AND OMMISSON OF INFORMAT

Updated by user Jul 04, 2013

Hi Pfft.

English is not my first language, however I have taken several English courses. and have obtain a 4.0 GPA. I have 2 university Diplomas with a 3.8 average and are currently seeking my Associate Degree. I appreciate your comment and respect your opinion, However If you had a real understanding for my review, You will be aware that this transaction was completed over the phone and the company sale agent fail to disclose relevant information regarding the program terms.

I'm happy to inform that I was able to get my money back using the legal system.

Thanks.

Original review May 24, 2013

Around May 7-9, 2013 I receive a phone call from a sales travel agent on representing SEARS VACTIONS. who explain to me that the sears layaway vacation program was having a special enrollment price. I was acetate in enrolling in the program because of my current financial situation and my ability to make the monthly payments, I express my concern to the agent and informed him that I was not interested in enrolling in type of contract, however the sales agent was very persistent and ensure me that I was not under a contract and I could cancel at any time. After being ensure that I was under no contract and I could cancel at any time I agree to enroll in the program base exclusively on the information I received from the sales agent. I made an initial down payment of 149.00 and agree to make 4 monthly payment of 86 dollars base on the fact that I could cancel and was not under contract, before finalizing the sale a validator was put on the phone to verify my information and the program benefits. On May 23, 2013 at 1:19 p.m. Eastern standard time. I call the sears vacation program customer services number at 185*-791-****. To cancel my vacation saving program, however the customer service agent inform to me that the company have a 10 cancellation policy, in which I reply to him,"that during my enrollment process I was not made aware of this cancellation requirement, and is not something that I agree too." The customer services agent were not able to assist me and then transfer my phone call to another agent. The second agent informed that I was not able to receive a refund because of the company 10 days cancellation company, I inform the agent that I was not made aware of this information during my enrollment, the sales agent and the validator fail to notified me that I had 10 days to cancel or I will lose my money. to which he reply “this information is on the company website under term and conditions”, I inform the agent that I have not seen this information because I haven’t received any documentation of the program term and condition and that I complete my enrollment by phone. A telephone call I received from their company. The agent informed that the sales agents are not required to inform client of the 10 days cancellation policy because there is no company policy or state law that say this is required.

I’m a hard working single mother who is trying her best to provide her kids with the best possible future. I enroll in the program because it seen like good way to save money for a good needed family vacation. I have work hard for everything I own. And it hurt that this company as deprived me of my hard earning money. 'THEY TRICK ME" In addition I find this company sales practices very disappointment and unethical. I was giving misleading information and important fact were omitted. I think is information was relevant because it would have affect the outcome of my enrollment of the program because is not something I would have agree too.

I strongly advice other customer to be aware of this company business practice.

I was just called about coming down to an open house since I was selected to get a "free 7day vacation" with no strings attached, nothing to join, etc! I know that nobody gets a free anything and it is so upsetting to think that people are sucked into joining a travel club to get a free vacation that they could just book themselves! Thanks for the heads up!

I've been to their open house. All they are doing is informing you about how their travel website works and compare prices.

They ask you if you'd like to join but if you're not interested in what they have to offer, they still give you those gifts.

Not gonna lie, seems like a great deal but I didn't have the extra money to put down to join but I still got my options for the resort and all the other gifts I was told I was gonna get. You're getting free stuff just for listening to them regardless, not much to loose.

@pfft, and you can't seem to retain what you read. She is highly educated.

All sales persons will neglect to telll all the facts since they are on commission and want the sell. Too bad it took legal action but glad she is getting her money back

Thanks for the review. I was recently just looking into vacation layaway as we also live on the dime.

And it's hard to just have that money readily for pick up and go vacations with the kids.

This was helpful to me in deciding I will just hold off on the layaway process and save the money the old fashion way. =) Thanks again.

I appreciate you taking time to post this review. I received a call this morning from Sears vacations attempting to sell me a vacation package on lay a way.

Since I am so skeptical of sales people I clearly asked what the cancellation process is if Iwant/need to cancel. His response was that Sears in no way wants to keep the buyers money if they wish to cancel. He was very vague in providing me with the legal answer I was hoping for. He is going to call me again this afternoon.

I am glad that I found this review because you have provided me with the answer I was looking for.

I too will save my money the old fashioned way and when I have enough I will then go on vacation.

Thank you again for this information. I truly believe that you may have saved me some grief!
