Defective table
We have a pedestal table that the leaf is not aligned correctly making it very difficult to put in and close in the table. It makes it almost impossible to remove.
I think one of the pegs is not aligned properly. One person ca not put the leaf in or remove it because it is stuck
We do not use it often and thought it would improve. However, it has not. Our warranty is up even though this was a flaw in making the table.
Our furniture store said it would cost us minimum $125 for a service call.
So we are out of luck we are in our late 70tys on a fixed income. We cannot use the leaf without getting someone to help.
Cushioned dining chairs invert when sat upon
Purchased Taos trestle table and chairs. Ladderback chairs with cushioned seats, no support under cushion which depresses into frame when sat upon by 118 lb lady.
I Refuse to retrifit new chairs for design flaw, sent them back. Found nicer chairs that match well at a better price.
- Nice design
- Poor quality

Stinky Furniture
I had an Intercon Kona table and chairs delivered yesterday morning. Within the last 24 hours it has become evident that the off-gassing of this furniture is much more severe than other typical wooden furniture.
I'm concerned as to exactly what is being emitted from this furniture because it is actually making me physically ill. I was doing some research on the internet to find out if anyone else has reported a similar issue, and if over time the off-gassing will dissipate. After reading this other review, I'm even more concerned now that there may be some type of chemical reaction happening beneath the finish coat that is causing the odor. Is my table also going to have odd squares appear in the finish within the year?
I sincerely hope not because right now the table looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. I'm praying the odor goes away, and soon.
Preferred solution: Solution to neutralize the odor

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Table has manufacturing defects, INTERCON refuses to fulfil promised warranty against manufacturer's defects
In the meantime I received this message from Mind' s Eye Interior : "I’m sorry you are so unhappy with your table from Intercon and the service by the Mind’s Eye. No explanations or excuses can satisfy you now and I don’t want you to continue to live with a table you are so disappointed with.
I would like to pick up the dining table for a full refund.".
As there is only a limited choice on Maui and as it was the only table available on the island which we liked and still like, we asked Jean to exchange it and that's what will happen in two days. Let' s hope that table #1 was a "Friday table" and that we will be happy with table #2 for years.
On January 18, 2017 we bought a Kona Dining Table , made by INTERCON Furniture Salt Lake City, at The Mind’s Eye Interiors, Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
In December 2017 we noticed a shiny square area on the surface of the table. Even though I do not own even one square dish and we only set round dinner plates on place mats and never any hot dishes, we eventually thought that we must have caused this spot by any inexplicable means. So we tried to clean it with water and soap and finally with Naphtha but nothing changed.
We contacted The Mind’s Eye Interiors by email on 12/7/2017 and explained the problem. Jean of The Mind’s Eye Interiors replied only on 12/20 and from then on till 01/04/2018 we have received only effectless and senseless advices by email from her (“As for taking care of the problem he (= INTERCON’s Product Manager) had no advice. But he thought with time the shiny spot would dissipate.” - what a professional statement!). When I asked Jean during a phone call once more if there was a manufacturer warranty, her snippy and gruff reply was “no” and she didn’t signal any intention to assume any obligation or to deal with our problem any longer. Unfortunately I believed her that there was no manufacturer warranty, because when I checked INTERCON’s homepage right after the phone call, I didn’t find any information about it.
Within the last 2 ½ months two more shiny square areas (one of these two is right below of a place mat) and two non-specific shaped shiny areas have appeared out of nothing on the table’s surface. Finally one month ago out of desperation we asked a professional carpenter for his opinion. He suspects that a square can 4.5 by 4.5 inches must have stand on different locations on the table and some of the content of this can has had soaked into the surface before the last varnish or stain had been applied or before the catalyzed finish had been sprayed on it.
The carpenter said that there is no chance for him to refurbish the table in order to achieve its original nice antique-like aesthetic.
He recommended that we try to find out whether there is a manufacturer warranty. Then I found several dealers like www.raymourflanigan.com or www.rcwilley.com or www.jordans.com who mention that INTERCON is granting a one year warranty against all manufacturer's defects.
Eventually one month ago we contacted the manufacturer INTERCON in Salt Lake City directly and told them the sad story of our originally beautiful table and the manner of Mind’s Eye Interior. Today after several reminders their manager sent us word that “They will need to work with the store directly. As far as I can see this is not a manufacturing defect.”
In other words he said: The square spots on the surface out of nothing (one BELOW A PLACE MAT!!!) are either caused by me (who doesn’t own any square dish) or they must be a miracle - but never a manufacturing defect! Congratulations to INTERCON: You are able to manufacture miracles! Unfortunately their Manager didn’t have any other explanation beside disclaiming responsibility for it – that’s poor.
Our recommendation:
STAY AWAY FROM MIND’S EYE INTERIOR MAUI!
STAY AWAY FROM INTERCON FURNITURE!
Table looks nice at first sight but by the time you will notice that it’s made made poorly and that INTERCON doesn’t take any responsibility. Good joke on their homepage: “It is our mission to offer our customers superior quality products with lasting value.“
Preferred solution: Full refund

I am concerned as well with off gassing from the Wolfcreek bedroom set. I had to move headboard and two night stands to the garage.
I also traded my new nightstands for two floor models hoping that the off gassing might be less on the floor models.
I’m concerned that I may never be able to use any of the pieces. I have asthma and the furniture finish makes it unbearable to have in the bedroom.
