Update on Marvin window issue.

Marvin representative contacted me and resolved the issue even though the windows were out of warrenty, however i caution future customers about the cottage style windows.

Not happy with Marvin Integrity cottage style windows

Integrity Windows And Doors - Not happy with Marvin Integrity cottage style windows

I have 35 Marvin Integrity windows in my house, 15 of them are cottage style which means the bottom sash is larger than the top. I have been having problems with the bottom window spring mechanisms breaking.

I have replaced one or both mechanisms in the bottom cottage sashes numerous times now the warranty has expired and it is starting to cost me money. Talking to Marvin concepts representative he indicated that this is do to the bottom mechanism being always fully extended.

I have never had a problem with any of the other double hung non cottage windows. My question, has anyone else experienced a similar problem and if so is there a remedy.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
