My Experience with InsureOne: Be Very Careful Before Signing Up

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My experience with InsureOne was frustrating from start to finish.

When I applied for the policy, I submitted all the documents they requested from the very beginning to receive an accurate estimate and avoid surprises later on. However, it appears they either did not review or did not properly report all the information I provided.

Some time later, I was verbally informed that my premium would increase by approximately $4,000. What was most concerning is that I never received any official document or written explanation justifying that increase.

When I decided to look for another insurance company with better rates, I was told that I would have to pay a cancellation fee based on this new inflated amount that they had calculated afterward. I could not understand how they could charge me a penalty based on a figure that was never part of the original agreement and that resulted from errors in their own process.

The situation became worse due to the unprofessional treatment and lack of courtesy from ***. Because of all this, I decided to file a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), explaining in detail what had happened.

And here is the interesting part: after DFS received my complaint, *** suddenly called me with a completely different attitude.

She was very polite, saying she was not aware of the situation and showing a willingness to help that she had never demonstrated before.

After several weeks, they finally agreed to correct the issue and charge me based on the original premium they had quoted at the beginning. I thought the problem was over, but it was not.

The next issue was getting my money back. The refund took almost a month. I had to contact DFS again to report that I still had not received the reimbursement.

Only after that intervention did the process move forward.

My advice to anyone having problems with InsureOne:Document everything in writing.Do not accept major changes communicated only by phone. If you feel you are not being treated fairly, file a complaint with DFS. The process is simple and it really works.Compare prices. After leaving InsureOne, I was able to insure my properties for approximately half of what they were trying to charge me.

This was my experience. I hope it helps someone before making a decision.

* Documenten todo por escrito.

* No acepten cambios importantes comunicados únicamente por teléfono.

* Si sienten que no están siendo tratados justamente, *** una *** con DFS. El proceso es sencillo y realmente funciona.

* Comparen precios.

Después de salir de InsureOne, conseguí asegurar mis propiedades por aproximadamente la mitad de lo que ellos intentaban cobrarme.

Esta fue mi experiencia. *** le sirva a alguien antes *** una decisión.

Severely upset

Insureone - Severely upset

My name is Christopher kaufman. I am upset because I paid at least 260.00 dollars for 6 months insurance.

That was about 3 weeks ago. It is now 10/2/20. I received a letter saying that I owe them another 63.00 dollars. So my issue is now 2 fold.

1st is that by sending this letter I fear that they would cancel making my vehicle illegal to driveAngry.

2nd is that I fear that they could be scamming me for the extra 63.00 dollars.

They could also switch me to a month to month policy and get more money that way.

Just in case I decided to try and pay. So I called the number on the letter I received. However all I received were several transfer calls and then a hangup with no service what so ever. I am a very patient man and I waited well over an hour for the transfer calls and to receive service.

I did not get a response. The representatives did not fix my problem and only passed my problem to each other. I also tried calling an additional 3 times but the same issue occurred.

So now I have this to say to insure one. I paid 260.00 dollars to you guys for 6 months of insurance and you will honor it.

If I get to an accident you better cover me for the next 6 months.

You will not be getting the additional 63.00 dollars from me because I felt I did my due diligence to pay you guys. Should I get pulled over and the police say "I'm not insured" I will sue you and there will be punitive damages.

Pros:
  • No way
Cons:
  • No way

Preferred solution: honor the insurance at 260 for 6 months with an apology

Worst Customer Service I have Ever Encountered!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Agent failed to update my phone and email.
  • - Documents to sign were promised by email but not sent.
  • - A manager helped and emailed the insurance cards.

On 2/26/2018 I contacted Indiana agent Latania Hawkins ext. 614003. She transacted my debit card payment of $92.00 to renew auto insurance for me and my husband. During our conversation, I asked her to update my phone number and email address. I also asked her if she could send all documents needing my signature via email. She advised that she could and I would receive them in about 20 minutes. I was going to sign them electronically and email them back to her. I never received the documents. Yesterday, on 02/27 I called and sat on hold for over twenty minutes. My call was then answered by someone who stated "Thank you for calling Insure One. Please hold." The person put me back on hold without even asking me if it was ok to do so!!! After being on hold for another 15 minutes I hung up in frustration and called their toll free number for quotes. I spoke with Shante Sturgis who seemed very efficient and professional. I explained my situation. She updated my email and phone number because Ms. Hawkins did not do so as I had previously asked. She also said that she would email Ms. Hawkins and advise her that I needed my documents emailed to me before the end of business that day. I still have not received them.

Today I spoke with a man who did not give me his name but was otherwise courteous and who showed genuine concern. He said he was sending another email to Ms. Hawkins. He also gave me her extention #614003 and transferred me to her voice mail as it was during the lunch hour. I left her a stern message that I needed those documents today and that since Insure One has my money my policy had better not be cancelled because I hadn't been able to sign and return the necessary documents. I made sure that she had my contact info.

It was now 2:45pm and I still had not received an email or any other type of response! At this point I was livid! I found their Facebook page and sent these same details to them on Facebook Messenger since no one would help me get the documents that I had requested. I put my contact info in the message and advised that further failure to respond would result in me contacting the Indiana Attorney General's office.

My husband decided to call the new quotes number and reached Michael Calvin who is a branch manager out of Illinois. After listening to my husband, he said he was going to resolve the matter himself. He said he would email the insurance cards that evening, and he did just that. He also advised that I would receive the documents needing my signature the next day. I received the insurance cards a few minutes after my husband ended the call with him. I appreciate Mr. Calvin's efforts considering that he works in a state other than where I purchased my insurance. However, based on the majority of experiences I have had with this company's so called customer service department, I can only advise DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM INSURE ONE! They have a hold recording where they go on about their friendly, courteous and respectful service. That is laughable. THIS WAS RIDICULOUS!!!

Pros:
  • Low price of insurance
Cons:
  • Customer service

  • - Amount higher than quoted; CSR asked if I'm paying today; SR-22 past charges.

Called to question why an amount was more than quoted. CSR stated are you paying today or not.

I hate calling in. I'd rather go into a local office bc I'm always being transfered at least 3 times minimum.

When I was younger the company charged me way more than they should have for sr-22. I'm def thinking about going to another company.

  • - Unprofessional company with rude staff and name changes (Sylvia/Jennifer).
  • - A $70 unauthorized charge was billed; voided but still pending.

I have never in my life dealt with a more unprofessional company!! I wish I had read theses reviews earlier because they are right on point.

Please avoid this company! They basically STOLE $70 from my account! The CSR was so rude she actually gave me a different name than her own. When I called back to see about this $70 unauthorized charge, they had no idea who I was talking about.

I asked to check the record to see who I spoke to last and she told me her name was Sylvia not Jennifer. I asked "slyvia" why she told me her name was Jennifer and she told me she goes by two names! Crazy! She also told me she submitted no extra charges.

She also told me my email was undeliverable sane email ive had for 10 years. After speaking with a supervisor who's phone manners were not much better, come to find out Jennifer spelled my name wrong, and charged me for my initial payment AND the first month premium! And she knew it. Now they sent me a confirmation saying that the transaction had been voided but it's still pending in my bank account.

That was two days ago! This is criminal.
