On Friday June 21, 2019 my insulin pump starts going crazy. I get a message telling me to disconnect my pump and call Medtronic. I do what it says and I call Medtronic only to be transferred to 4 different people and to be disconnected 3 times and having to call back 3...
Medtronic - No Care for the customer
by DryDunker994 #1538498
Medtronic could not care less about it's customer. I've been a customer for 12 years, and I can barely stand them.
The minute the technology of other companies gets up to par, I'm jumping ship. Most recently, they did not bother to gain a pre-authorization for supplies as I requested, resulting in me having to contend a $6k bill, despite it being a Medtronic generated issue.
When I tried to order more supplies (after having run out while battling the appeal), they refused to even comp faster shipping. It's disheartening that Type 1 Diabetics must depend on this company for life and death supplies, as it's clear Medtronic doesn't value us or our lives.

I have recently changed from the Animas Vibe insulin pump to a Medtronic MiniMed 640G and I hate the bloody thing. it's over complicated, fiddly and fussy, requiring double clicks where one would do, and has too many menus to find the required function. (Advice to Medtr...
Medtronic - 670G insulin pump.
by PissedConsumer1536173 #1536173
I’ve been having so many problems with the 670G insulin pump. I’ve only had the pump for a year.
Horrible customer service with my pump. Customer service is threatening me with the defective insulin pumps they send.

I have been using Medtronic insulin pumps for over 15 years. Now I am ready to change over to something better. Once you get a pump for a period of 3 or 4 years (depending on insurance coverage) there are no software updates. Every other electronic device I know gets per...
Medtronic - Worse pump to date
by DifferentCuscus575 #15341391.0
I have had an insulin pump since 1998, I started with the Paradigm, which I loved. I received a call from Medtronic approximately two years ago stating the Paradigm was being discontinued and I would have to upgrade to the 670G.
I was told the sensor would take an additional six months to ship. Once the sensor was ready to ship, I was then told that the sensors would be an extra cost. Worst pump I have ever had. The 670G has terrible insulin flow blockage errors.
This results in elevated blood sugar levels. I am on my fourth 670G pump and still having issues.
I have changed sites, reservoirs, tubing and insulin. I plan to file a complaint with the FDA Medical Equipment Division.

I have been a type 1 diabetic for 41 years and I am now 51 years old, I have been on several different medtronic pumps over the last 25 years and have always stuck with them and have spent a fortune with them over all these years. Every visit my diabetic doctor and the...
Medtronic - Infusion sets continually leak.
by SlightBlueLacyDog #1525610
I have had my 670g for about a year and have had constant issues with the infusion sets leaking, every time I have to call support and get a new one shipped only to have the problem happen again and again, there was one week where I had to get three sets replaced. This is my first insulin pump and had I known it was going to be like this I would have gone with the Dexcom like my sister and daughter recommended.
