Instant Housecall - Lifetime Subscription converted to 10 years? :(
Updated by user Feb 09, 2019

Company agreed to extend 1 more year.

Original review Jan 25, 2019

In 2007 when Instant Housecall was just getting started I went with a 1 year plan to try out the service for $1068. It was great and still is. After that year I came across another popular supplier of similar remote software that had a lifetime price and had mentioned it to the owner of Instant Housecall. He proceeded to create a custom lifetime option for me for which he has stated lifetime in several different emails and on the phone. I agreed that I would not get any software upgrades either and I would have to use the current version, which still works fine for me. He agreed on $699 for which we paid. He said he would set it to 11 years later for now and would increase it later if needed. Kind of chuckling cause it was so far away at the time. Well, now here it is 11 years later and he now says that he describes lifetime as 10 years and my subscription will end soon. Which I don't understand, since I am still alive and I would assume it would go until I or my company dies. I have to assume he has done this to other customers and they either gave in, died or gave up.

I still use this and do not see why I need to pay again for something that was supposed to be lifetime. Instant Housecall has not even provided me any company documentation from back when this was done stating that lifetime means 10 years.

I'm not sure what else to do.

His company is much bigger now and is probably trying to rid all these old contracts that helped him in the beginning. :(
