Horrible experience and scam

No resolution or contact from Kelly's Ford

If anyone is looking to plan a local getaway - please don't make the same mistake as I did! I planned a 40th Bday weekend getaway for my girlfriend and I at the Inn at Kelly's Ford in Remington VA and it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had. The once beautiful Inn is completely run down and a ghost town. The only person on the property was a non-English speaking groundskeeper who was left to provide our "stellar accommodations". Needless to say we did not receive anything close. We were suppose to do a trail ride but we were unable to communicate with the groundskeeper on how to handle these animals properly that were not tame or calm enough for a novice rider. We were very fearful of our safety and never even left the arena. We were forced to communicate with the groundskeeper through a translator app because he couldn't understand us AT ALL! We had no hot water in the wet bar in the room, dust and cobwebs, bugs in the windows, TV service had been cancelled and trash, beer cans and even a dirty diaper on the grounds. It was so run down with broken steps everywhere, the pool/hottub area was a hot mess and unuseable. The groundskeeper offered us a golf cart ride to make up for our horse experience, and then that wouldn't even run. The toilet in our room never stopped running and then wouldn't flush. The groundskeeper tried to fix it but could not so told us he would move us to another room. He kept disappearing and leaving us wondering what the *** was going on. We decided to peek in on the room he planned to move us to and it looked like it was currently occupied with clothes, bags and food everywhere. There was no way this room could be property sanitized during a pandemic. We decided we no longer wanted to stay and had the groundskeeper get the manager on the phone. We told him he weren't comfortable staying, he said OK with no apologies and that we would refunded within 3-5 days. After a few days, I received nothing and started an email chain with the owner Omar who told me they had no intention of refunding us and we were bad customers and everything was fine before we got there and not only was he not refunding our room but I still owed him $120 for our trail ride. I am still working on recourse... Paypal denied our dispute so I am exploring small claims court. I know the question gets asked alot here about getaways - please avoid this place AT ALL COSTS!!!!

User's recommendation: Do NOT GO.!
