Misleading Cost for Services
- - CT scan without contrast at Malbis ER; online price was $224.

My pulmonologist ordered a CT scan without contrast. They called with the location, which was Malbis Emergency Room.
I figured the cost would be extremely high, so I googled what the fees would be. In that search, it took me to Thomas Hospital fees under MD Save and stated the cost would be $224. I figured that was fair and proceeded with the service. I then received a bill for over $3,000, which I have to pay as I have a high deductible insurance.
This transparency in pricing seems very unfair and unethical. There should be better transparency in what you have to pay before you have a service performed versus just getting a bill for whatever they want to bill. This just seems criminal to me!
It's not right! How are my out-of-pocket costs over $3,000 when just a click of a button changes that cost to only $224?
