Independent Window Repair

THESE PEOPLE CHEATED US. They said they would replace our window frames with the same frames. THEY DID NOT!!! We have windows that are backwards. They send you to different people every time you ask for an answer. They refuse to change it back and refuse to refund us the money. THEY CLAIM "IT WAS THE ECONOMICAL SOLUTION". I did not ask for a "economical solution". We want the correct window. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY INSTALL WHAT THEY WANT NOT WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. THEY WILL TELL YOU IT IS THE SAME, BUT IT IS NOT, AT ALL!!!

Came out promptly. Estimate was 300% of what I expected it to be.

Only one coat of paint to be applied. Even with a primer, I believe a good job needs two coats. Don't like their paint choice (SW-Duration) 5# bucket is $375 which is full retail pricing. I Don't believe it needs power washing.

On 21-year-old distressed wood? Labor is 60% of the job. Does not address major caulking and one small wood strip under high window--that is extra! Includes painting areas that do not appear to need painting at this time.

I will try elsewhere and try to shrink the scope of the job.

Cost for 25% of peak trim boards, fascia, and soffits does not even include high drainpipes: almost $3,000!

("Duration" paint on another garage only lasted 5 years and that was with a primer, one coat, and a light top coat.)

Had their Tech come out for an estimate. Promptly got the estimate and decided to let them go ahead.

I volunteered to give them my credit card to prepay for the job. They said "No" they needed their paperwork filled out. They didn't like the way I answered the questions (I had other things to do beside fill out their forms). Again, I volunteered to give them my credit card to prepay for the job.

Again they said they had to have their forms filled out perfectly. I said I couldn't be bothered.

They said "Goodbye". What losers!!

Terrible customer service. Scheduled an appointment and waited 3 weeks for my date to have it cancelled two days before the appointment due to an emergency schedule break.

Got new date for a week later to have that date cancelled on me a day before the appointment. Next day they couldn't give me was for another month later. When asked to speak to a manager I was told that a manager can't help me and this is all they can do for me. When I said I'm going to take my business elsewhere, she said well sorry to hear that have a nice day!

Their work is average, used them once before. I advise you to seek out another company if you want to have your windows repaired!

Answered about cleaning the window glass they covered with spray from compressor

The guys who fixed the wood were wonderful. The guys who painted also painted grass brand new roof my deck is trashed and it is not 2 layers of paint! Not to mention they painted on a rainy day (probably because they took on too many jobs) DO NOT USE INDEPENDANT WINDOW REPAIR FOR PAINT

This is the part that gets me this company is in my neighborhood so I figured use local and keep the money here. Well I was wrong and I did not realize how large of a company they are and how much they do not want my business.

After numerous phone calls and even a email no one at IWR has the courtesy to pick up a phone or to call or email back.

They have this great website and a wonderful voice message system but no one to man the system. I am greatful they did not get my money and I feel sorry for the people that actually have to deal with them..

I had several of my windows repaired by IWR and they left huge dimples in the window frames from the screws. I had to have them come out and re-caulk and it still looked horrible. When I called back they sent an inspector that only made excuses and refused to do anything to solve the problem. I spoke to 3 people from the company including the owner and they all were unwilling to solve the problem.

My advice to you is to save disappointment and never use this company. They are not reputable and do not stand behind their work.

First I got an estimate than after work had started, something went unexpected. That's when they nailed me!

After the work had started they realized their was more rot than originally discussed. I could've gotten another estimate/contractor but I let them finish because they already started the project. When all was complete, my trim color was slightly off and the bill was twice as much.

No one wanted to work with me on the price. Not good business!

I bought a home that needed windows replaced/repaired. Had a quote $30,000 for new windows & Indepentdent Window Repair quted $12,000 to repair.

I had a lenghty conversation with the estimator regarding what would be replaced/repaired. The home has cidar siding, he recommended replacing trim with plastic because it last longer, so I did. The crew that did the work was outstanding. But the work that was done was not what I was told from the estimator.

Yes they repaired the windows but the trim on the windows does not match the windows they did not repair. The windows they did repair some of the trim was not replaced, that too does not match trim. Has estimator back out to discuss, said he would send crew out to rework.

It's been 60 days not rework and not returned phome calls. GET NEW WINDOWS!!!!!!!!

My objective was to have my windows fixed instead of buying new ones, however, this company did not only provide me with a poor patch up job, but they also rewind the existing window, they broke the seal and now the window fogs all the time, and when I mentioned it to the worker, his response was ( it was like that when we got here). They also broke the hinge on the same window so now you can not even open the window in the summer, because the hinge stops the window from sliding when it's open.

Thus I will never do buisness with this company again, nor would I recommend it to my worst enemy. Oh did I mention that this job cost me almost $1200.00.
