Our pool STILL IS NOT COMPLETE‼ This so called company continues to ignore phone calls and texts. Since last review we finally have a cage and pavers and most of equipment. If Allen Werner would just get his *** together, our pool could be finished in less than a week. He has been pretty much unresponsive for past two weeks. We went to Sarasota Sheriff and was told that if he does not pay his subs with OUR money AND PROVIDE PROOF he is literally committing fraud and that is a felony and carries jail time for each offense. He is obviously taking money from Peter (us) to pay Paul (another customer).This is against law and considered fraud, especially if subs from our job end up putting liens on our property ‼ STAY AWAY FROM ANY COMPANY ALLEN WERNER IS ASSOCIATED WITH‼‼‼

Allen Werner and his Independent Pool Company began our pool this September right after Labor Day 2016. Allen Werner is owner and works out of his truck, makes promises he never keeps, takes your money and doesn't show up for weeks, never returns phone calls or texts, leaves a ton of litter at worksite, has three employees all over 65, I'm guessing, who might work five hours a day with most of that time sitting around smoking cigarettes and talking in their truck which has torn up our/neighbor's yard ... Thus very pissed off neighbors, doesn't pay his sub contractors (talked to one of them today who is owed $2,020 for beautiful tile work he did). Therefore, he is unable to find subs to do work he himself cannot do. I could go on and on. My husband and I are presently waiting for him to install our surround pool pavers. We call and call, text and text with no response...except one answer when they hung up on my husband‼️ They show no courtesy or respect for their customers. WE JUST WANT OUR $71,000 POOL FINISHED BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS‼️ He promised first or middle of October, then first of November, then November 15, then Thanksgiving, etc.. He takes from Peter to pay Paul, takes on more jobs without adequate employees, and before completing existing jobs. Werner doesn't give you updates or expectations. He reels you in by undercutting the competition with "extras" and then once you sign contract and give him half the money or down payment he begins with excuses. WE HAVE GONE WEEKS WITH NO RESPONSE OR UPDATE FROM HIM. We got him to sign an addendum to contract where he would have substantial money withheld from final payment...that seems to not be any incentive...as of now we will be withholding several thousand dollars. My husband was willing to negotiate with Werner since he has a young family. Still no response. Now we are offering to pay his subs ourselves‼️ Still no response. Like I said I could go on and on about this abortion of a job‼️ My advice STAY AWAY...BAD COMPANY‼️‼️‼️ I wouldn't wish Allen Werner and his INDEPENDENT POOL CO. on my worst enemy‼️‼️‼️ We and four other unsatisfied ex customers will LIKELY be filing a Class Action LAWSUIT against him if he does not finish outstanding mistakes or incomplete work on those jobs INCLUDING OURS. We will also call all developments in the Venice, Sarasota, and North Port areas and warn the community HOA's NOT TO APPROVE ANY PROPOSAL FROM HIM OR ANY OF HIS COMPANY NAMES, OF WHICH HE HAS SEVERAL. My HOA contact has already said she will not approve any jobs in our community. Perhaps she will spread the word with all WCI communities in the area‼️We will also do everything in our power to have his license revoked in Sarasota County. Hopefully by the time you as a reader sees this review Werner will be out of business OR GOTTEN HIS *** TOGETHER, followed through with his promises to complete our pool within ten days or a mutually agreed upon date. Otherwise, Werner is going to have to find another line of work...probably ripping other people off doing something else‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
