Need duplicate car title but records don’t show me as outdated owner
NoCall never went through. Auto system never registered menu selection to forward call.
Voice message played on continuous loop never registered my keystrokes.
Every tele number sounded disconnected. Seems like call center closed down but still on the website.
- Lots of services
- Seems most services are closed
Disability placard hasn't arrived. Called before told I had 6 months. Is that 6 months from Mar 31?
Placard hasn't arrived in my mail box. It left SOS facility in March. Need to make an appointment to get a replacement.
Rude, Ignorant and malicious people
- - I arrived early with a cane; entry was denied, then I was let in seconds later.
- - Check-in asked for address proof; bank balances were discussed.
I had an appointment, showed up 20 minutes early. I have a physical disability, walk with a cane.
Would not let me in the door and was laughing about it. I left, came back and with just seconds to spare they let me in the door. The facility was not even close to full. They could have let me go in earlier and at least sit down.
The lady checking me in wanted to check my documents proving change of address. I had blacked out the bank account amounts and she was upset about that. THEY DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY IS IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.
Horrible people with obvious evil intent. Vote the evil out!!!
User's recommendation: Avoid if at all possible
Disability
I think the wait time was too long and then they sent me a message 25 minutes. They never called back in 25 minutes.
I was trying to make an appointment because I got paper in the mail for my doctor that I can get disability plan for my car and nobody ever answered the phone?
BS BS BS
Too long to answer calls. Then you have to call back at 6:30 am to make an appointments. Walk ins for seniors to far spread out

Verified ReviewerNo one ever picks up the phone
- - I called four times and was on hold for over an hour.
- - A rep spoke with a mouthful of food.
- - The transfer to Vehicle Title; line stayed silent.
Have called four times and been on-hold to have called picked up for over an hour each time - end up hanging up.
Today, finally got someone to pick up the call, answered by a woman who had a mouth full of food. Asked my question and she said she would transfer me to the Vehicle Title blah blah department.
I assume she transferred me but the line never rang, there was no "on-hold" music or any indication that the call was actually sent to wherever it needed to go; line was just silent the entire time. I stayed on the line for an additional 37 minutes and finally hung up.
- You absolutely need them to do any vehicle or license services as an illinois resident
- There is not enough space to list the cons for this office
User's recommendation: If you're like me and live outside of Illinois, just drive or book a flight and visit an IL SOS facility in-person. (That is actually a whole different kind of chaos but at least you'll have a face to imagine when you want to punch someone in the future.)
This is why no one likes the DMV
- - Website and DMV staff give conflicting title requirements.
- - CEFCU didn't send a title, only a lien release.
First of all, the information on the website (and the form) for duplicate titles don't match what the DMV employees say. I moved out of state and to get my registration/plate in the new state, have to get a copy of a title since CEFCU never sent one and all they gave me was a lien release.
So, I send filled out copies of the form to family in IL since I didn't want to send payment via mail (btw, how is this not electronically possible in this day and age to send electronic payment?). He gets there and the person tells him something with the forms needs to be added on the DMV's part, prints the right forms, then says it needs a virtual signature. So, he sends it back to me and I provide a VIRTUAL signature even tho anyone could have just signed it. So he takes the forms again.
Now it has to be a "wet" signature. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN I DON'T LIVE THERE AND IT WOULDN'T MATTER WHO SIGNED IT ANYWAY. I call the Sec. of state number, listen to the menu and when I click on the number to ask about my issue it DISCONNECTS EVERY TIME.
I'm calling just to check what ACTUALLY needs to be submitted so my dad doesn't have to go back for a fourth time even but no one is answering. I live in Nevada now and going to the DMV has to be scheduled months in advance and still it wasn't this complicated, bureaucratic nonsense.
User's recommendation: move out of IL

Verified ReviewerStatus of Drivers license
- - The 24-hour line isn't available; the number says closed and asks you to call.
- - The menu loops back to the first option after the third, frustrating.
Your 24 hrs line is not available 24 hrs.u call the number and it tells you it's closed and still gives you the same number and tells you to call it ... also the menu tends to be looped from like the 3rd menu right back to the first.its frustrating at best.

Verified ReviewerCustomer rep level of customer service
- - Called IL Secretary of State to confirm license expiration date; the main number agent was rude, gave two answers, and hung up after I objected.
Called IL Secretary of State 800-252-**** to confirm true drivers license expiration date since there was an extension listed on the website till November. Customer rep at the main number was rude and gave me two different answers, with a tone of voice like I should know without calling.
When I explained that the automated phone menu differed from the website on the exp. date, she continued to be rude, I objected, and she hung up on me.
