IChurch scam - File a complaint

I would encourage each of you to file a stop payment with your bank and then file a claim to have them get your money back. I spoke with my bank and they told me to attempt to contact them again but if I cannot or if they refuse to pay my money back to me it doesn't matter and they will take further action.

I've made multiple attempts to call, I've emailed and they are always "unavailable" to help and rather than keeping you in a *** they tell you to try back.

Adam, if you are happy to help, please pick up the phone!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I didn't catch these charges until after the second charge was taken out. That said, I actually did recieve one refund from them.

I am however, still fighting to get the second amount refunded and they have ceased to respond to emails and have never answered the phone.

Like I said in the earlier comment, I've contacted my bank and they are in the process of going after the company on my behalf. I'd recommend doing the same. From what I understand, if it's been less than 60 days they are required to refund it.

The owner of this "so-called" company, is also pretending to be helpful Adam and saying he is refunding the money.. he is also posing as an imposter person who is saying they were refunded..Its all a lie

this email from a so called Adam is a lie and also gsmomma is also a lie...Wake up people..its all a lie! They are not refunding anybody!!!!!!!!!

I got scammed by Ichurch

Same thing happened to me, small charge to verify my info next thing I know but not right away I go to my internet banking and $149.97 gone, stolen, robbed from me. So I wrote and asked for my money back told them I didn't agree to anything, however Sarah the person who responds to emails told me there was a terms of agreement....UM WHERE.....that I agreed to!

What? I didn't see anything like that, however she said she would get back to me and I never heard back again and still don't have my money and mind you this was days before Christmas! Yes my children went without because of this unethical company. I am gathering people who are interested in a class action suit.

I have my email on another site with the same complaints. If you are interested in getting involved please email me at miss_shellez@***.com. I have received some emails so from others and am just trying to get more before I contact a lawyer. This happened to me a year ago.

Good for the people who have gotten their money back, I am unfortunately not one of them. Hope to hear from some of you soon.

Riped off buy ichurch

I was told to allow the use of my credit card for only proof of age and ichurch took a total of 150.00 out of my account. They have not returned any calls.

They denied the claim to return the funds to my bank even after my bank got involved. They are liars and I would not give these so called christians the time of day. I even took my account off line a week later, because I was in the hospt when all this happened. I am on a fixed income and thought I would meet some honest people.

What a bunch of liars. My name is Frank Quaranta I live at 518 E.

South St. Harrisville, WV 26362 and I would like my money bank

IChurch scammed me out of $149.97 by misrepresentaion.

I searched for a Christian chatroom and iChurch came up on search. I went there and agreed to pay a validation fee of $1.95 for verification of my identification.

I "joined" what I thought was a free chatroom. I assumed they verified identification for safety reasons. I entered some personal information and didn't look at it again for almost 24 hours. They contacted my by email and said I had matches so I went and looked.

I said I was interested in dialog with these matches and sent some preliminary questions. I again thought these were all safety precautions. I "joined" on Friday evening around 10:00 pm. I discovered my banking account was overdrawn on the next Monday so I checked it and they had removed $149.97 from my account.

I immediately cancelled this "membership". I was contacted that my membership was cancelled but that I would not receive a refund because I agreed to the "Terms of agreement". I do not recall agreeing to any terms other than verification of my identity. I was only in their program for 64 hours total (48 hours of this was on the weekend).

I have always understood that you could cancel anything within 3 business days.

Anyhow, I entered a refund request and was denied so I entered an appeal and was told I could receive back $100 of the $149.97 because I used their services for a few hours. I was told I would receive this today. I have not received it. I actually received no services or any contact with any single, Christian male.

Thank you. Sue Whitaker

Ichurch is a Credit Card SCAM

I see that other people signed up for the 1.95 verification fee which is of course supposed to prove that you are a real person. Yeah, and then Ichurch steals your money by debiting your account for 149.00.

Don't worry about activating your account.they will do that for you for free!!!! Basically you might come out ahead if you dealt with the Scammers in Africa or the UK. These people are CROOKS. I called and they SAID they would give me my money back into my account.

We will see. RUN the opposite direction! THEY are absolutely CROOKS in sheeps clothing. Thy claim to be Christians.

Yeah, thankfully God IS watching and knows what is going on here. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

I am a victim of credit card fraud. Some how hackers got my credit card information.

Besides making purchases they joined several dating site. All sites but Ichurch recognized the fraud because the profile did not match the billing address. This means there is a scammer on the Ichurch site. I have called numerous times and no one is available and they have not returned my phone call even when I left the message about the credit card fraud.

I have contacted the police. But I feel you are not safe on this site!!!!

Yes same here! i signed up for the $1.95 verificaton and they took $49.99. i called them they sent me refund documents and still have not be reimbursed.

My people, my people do not worry your pretty little heads. These people are going around using God's name and scamming people out of the blessings.

Believe me what God has in store for them none of us could do to them. Might not be today, tomorrow, next year. But if you been living longer then 20+ yrs you have learned that the rubber meets the road at some pointand we all are held accountable.

May God bless us all

IChurch Credit Card Charge Scam

I registered for the iChurch date, and regretfully gave them my personal information only for verification purposes. In no time I was a member (what I thought was a free membership). Recently, when I checked my credit card statement, not only did the company take out the verification fee; they also took out another charge on my card.

I contacted iChurch, and they told me I didn't read the Terms of Service agreement... We can't refund your money. Next I contacted the BBB, but the BBB cannot find a good address on the company.

I am pissed and sick to my stomach about the money they fraudulently took off my credit card.

My bank said to contact your local police department. If you filed a Federal Trade Commission complaint as well, you can take a copy to the police. This action by ichurch is considered fraud and identity theft.

Guest

Everyone who has been scammed, please contact the Federal Trade Commission. I think they can investigate and shut them down!

Guest

I too was charged 149.97 and told the bank it was a fraudulent charge which is currently being investigated. I am very IRATE about it.

Whenever you call them, nobody even answers the freakin phone!

What kind of legitimate business does that? Well, I've left a message so they better call me back or credit my account!

Guest

Hi,

I too fell for the scam. I have reported it to my bank, who said they couldn't help me because I had no proof that it said it was a free service with only 1.95 service fee to validate.

Then I tried to contact them by email several times and never heard back. I wrote to 7 on your side tonight we'll see if that helps. They didn't even wait a day to charge me $149 dollars I paid a verification fee one day within 13 hours they had charged me. They also say they offer several different payment plans, they didn't offer me any, just charged me.

I am furious.

I wrote them again tonight we'll see. Heather.

So when I went to pay some bills, I had this charge on my account that I hadn't authorized and couldn't figure out what it was. After some investigation, I found it was ichurch and that there was nothing I could do about - or so I thought.

So I deactivated my account. When I did this, there was a link to send an email for feedback. Better believe I hit it. Up popped an email box and I expressed my displeasure - including letting them know they had stolen my money - and telling them that I wouldn't be recommending them to anyone - EVER.

Within 30 minutes I had received an email telling me they were refunding the money to my account and would that fix my complaint against ichurch.

That was Thursday. As of 5 minutes ago, every penny is back in the bank!!!

Guest

Have to say...yes, I think it is unethical the way they go about this. I was livid when I saw the charge of $149.97 hit my account.

I felt totally duped! Especially when I googled it and saw all of these message boards with so many people who had been scammed as well! I was certain after the run around everyone was saying they had been given about refunds I would be out the $$$ unless I took it up w/my bank.

I emailed them saying I wanted them to refund the unauthorized amount immediately! That was last Saturday. I received a response the following Monday (I believe) saying they reviewed my complaint and agreed to refund the money. They also stated it could take 7-10 days to receive the refund.

I just checked my account and it looks as if the refund hit 2 days later.

So, although I don't agree AT ALL with the way they are doing "business" (and I use that word lightly), maybe they are feeling the pressure and realizing they have to refund those who catch on to their scam. Hopefully they are on the *** of being shut down. Either way, at least they refunded my money!

Hope everyone else has seen results on their end....

What a SCAM!!! Aren't Christians supposed to be reliable?

$1.95 then $149.99...its just a dating site. Who in their right mind would sign up for a site that offers little to nothing compared to the other mainstream sites.

Bogus!! iChurch owner...you reap what you sow.

Guest

Yes, they are scam artists. They stole $149.99 from me too.

Don't sign up with them whatever you do. Who can we write to complain so this site gets shut down and prosecuted? Any way for us to get our money back? I have tried through my bank but they have not been able to get the money back from IChurch as IChurch says I agreed to the terms.

But you all know that none of us ever saw anything about being charged $149.99, unless it was invisible print or too small for the naked eye to see.

What a scam. Anyone have any ideas?
