Our Chevy Tahoewith less than 30,000 miles on itexperienced a total failure of a known recalled part, leaving us completely stranded on the side of the road. Because the vehicle was technically out of warranty, I contacted the sales department, who directed me to the service department.
After extensive discussions, the service manager agreed to reimburse us for the $400 repair cost.
I waited over a month for the payment to process.
During that time, a new manager took over the service department. Following another round of tedious back-and-forth, this new manager informed me that they would not honor the previous agreement
.
It is completely unacceptable and shameful for a dealership to renege on an explicit commitment made by its leadership.
We are now unfairly stuck with the repair bill. When the time comes to purchase our next $70k SUV, it will absolutely not be from this Chevy dealer.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Buy your Chevy elsewhere

Verified ReviewerResolved: I purchased a vehicle from I g burton on april first two thousand twenty six, I live in Maine. And had issues with this truck on my way home and actually , before I left delaware , where I g burton , I
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with partial refund. They did pay for my rental car, and they also paid for an oil change to be done that.
They never did. If it's used and it came from another dealership that IG Burton purchased, have it, checked out someplace else as well before you buy it.
I had to purchase another vehicle from the dealership where my truck broke down. I bought a 22 Chevrolet Express with a diesel engine. The check engine light came on 2 times before I left Delaware. David at the dealership put his scanner on it and shut the light off.
He said, quote, 'It has something to do with the emissions,' unquote. When I returned to Maine, my new truck had to go directly to the dealership to have warranty work done on it. The cruise control stopped working. The exhaust engine brake never worked at all.
The windshield rubber is coming out at the top of the windshield, and they never did an oil change on it! I got a call from the dealership that is doing the warranty work telling me that a vacuum line that runs to the EGR valve for the emissions system was not plugged in. Delaware and Maryland have very strict inspection laws. Emissions are a big part of it.
If there's an emissions problem, the vehicle does not pass; it fails. This truck should not have passed an inspection. It should have failed the emissions test. According to Chevrolet, if the EGR valve is not connected, the vehicle uses more fuel and is prone to excessive soot buildup inside the intake of the engine.
So this truck should have never left Delaware. It did not pass their multi-point inspection that they claim they did.
It could not have passed if they did the emissions test. Because of the EGR valve not being connected, it would have been dispersing excessive exhaust gas into our atmosphere.
Preferred solution: I want I g burton to pay for my rental Car reimbursement. I want I g burton to pay for an oil change at a chevrolet dealership, And also, some monetary refund For my troubles. And the Excessive use of fuel used from Delaware to Maine
User's recommendation: Check everything, make sure everything's 100% before you drive out.If you have to sleep in their parking lot to make everything right , do so

They need to fix any emission issue, but unless there is a rental agreement in your warranty, they don’t owe you for that. They also don’t owe you “other” compensation. I guess next purchase you will know to take the car for a presale inspection at your cost.
