AI Highlights
  • - The vacuum is high priced and seems dependent on Doug for support.
  • - After the 3-year warranty, it’s unclear who handles replacement or repair.

What scares me about making the investment in this high priced vacuum is that everything leads back to Doug one person when he kicks the bucket, who do I call to expand. After a 3 year warranty, who do I call to have my machine replaced or fixed? It feels like when he go, the company goes and my business is limited.

They have not responded or addressed my concern.

Original review Jul 29, 2024

After I wrote my review, Doug demanded that I remove the review, or he would not send another check. I let him know I would remove the review if he sent the remaining $5000 check.

He never responded, and he still has not sent the money he owes. He received his unused machine back. As a matter of fact, we never removed the machine from the box.

My husband and I did the right thing by returning the equipment and staying in contact with Doug.

It is not fair that he refuses to pay us what he owes. Please save yourself a headache and do not do business with him.

Unhappy with product

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Purchased a $7,500 system from Doug C.; returned it for a refund.
  • - Doug stopped responding; misdelivery/damage claim refuted by UPS; $2,000 paid.

My husband purchased the system through Doug C for $7500. After receiving the item and realizing it was no different from a Kirby, my husband contacted Doug and let him know he wanted to return the product for a full refund.

This was within a week of receiving the product. Doug said he would call my husband back with information on how to return the product. Doug never called back, and he stopped answering my husband's calls. Shortly after this in February 2023, my husband had brain surgery and was unable to return to work.

I started calling and emailing Doug. He reassured me that he would send a return label for me to send the unused machine and all products back to him. I sent the machine back in April 2023. Doug said the machine was delivered by UPS to the wrong address.

I don't even know how this happens. He then said the product was damaged, and the box was busted open when he received it. I verified with UPS that this was in fact a lie. When I called Doug back requesting a check be mailed, he said he would, but it took him several months to send the first check of $1000.

He originally told me he had sent a check for $2500, but it was supposedly lost in the mail. The first check he sent was only $1000, and he sent it though UPS. I waited several weeks for him to send another check, which was also lost in the USPS mail. You see the pattern...

Then he finally sent the second check in October 2023 through UPS, which was also for $1000. This was after he had also promised to send a $2000 check. I have been contacting Doug since January 2024 about sending the remaining balance of rough $5500. He responded to my email in February and told me he was in the hospital.

I emailed him a few weeks later, he responded in March and said he was recovering slowly. He asked me to give him a few weeks to recover, and he would mail a check. It is April 30, 2024. Doug has not responded to an email or phone call.

I do not believe he plans on sending the rest of the money. However, I do know that God will deal with him in the appropriate manner.

My warning to anyone planning on doing business with him is DON'T!!! This man is a liar, and he is not to be trusted.

Please find another company to invest your money in. I have emails and phone records to prove this all happened.

Over charge for service.

my wife order a cleaning of our dryer vent system and when the technician came he show me

a split in the vent line and said this is way the dryer needed servicing. They estimate was originally

$69.00 for cleaning the vent, the added cost for changing the split hose would bring the cost to

$259.00 which he was charging me $190.00 to install a new vent line from my dryer to the wall.

I agreed to let him do the installation. I had the part cost check out and found out that the vent

actually cost $10.99 at home depot, I could of installI the vent line in less then ten minutes myself. I feel that I have been taking advantage of because of my lack of knowledge. NOT HAPPY !!

I was ripped off and taken advantage of as a single woman living alone.

AI Highlights
  • - Dialed for a $49 dryer vent cleaning.
  • - Tech asked about my husband and said he could fix the coil.
  • - Price rose to $274; 3 free cleanings offered.

It was a telephone call marketing a $49 dryer vent cleaning. I scheduled an appointment. A young "tech" man came to the door and immediately asked if I had a husband. At first I told him I wasn't going to answer that.

After pulling the dryer away from the wall, he called me over to see that the aluminum coil had a slit in it and it needed to be repaired. He again asked if I had a husband or son who could fix it. I said no - he said he could fix it. After looking at the top of the vent said there was a birds nest there and that's why my coil was cut.

My initial cost of $49 turned into $274. I called the company and the owner called me back and offered 3 free cleanings.

It was a scam and I felt vulnerable.

Doug was very kind and walked me through the process of starting a mattress cleaning business. He sent me training materials on how to use my new Hygienitech machine and it was very helpful.

Hygienitech also showed me the best way to market my mattress cleaning business. It's been almost 1 year and my business is already doing over $300k in sales! I owe it all to Hygienitech!

I bought a system from Doug in 2014. I've purchase 4 systems since.

My goal is to expand throughout Texas and then head west.

Hygienitech is the only mobile mattress sanitizing system in the U.S.

The hotels I service love having their mattresses sanitized. I hope to expand to college dorms, retirement homes, hospitals, and fire stations.

It takes work to build a business and it's not for everyone. (Not everyone wants to work). I can't think of a business today where

customers will automatically flock to you.

I look forward to buying more systems as my business grows.

I also was told by Doug that he would buy back a machine I purchased, it had never been opened. I sent it to him, six weeks ago and I am still chasing my money.

He began by telling me it never arrived, fed ex didn’t agree.

Finally after three weeks he admitted to having it, and would inspect it and send a check. I paid him 7,000 for it, but he claims it is outdated and only worth $750.I am still waiting for my money.

Who are you?

Guest

If you are going to post a response at least be accurate. I was not paid in a timely fashion.Apparently there were some issues with the economy being like it is.

I have been paid in full now. That is correct.

Guest

If you check with the person who posted the camplaint about not being paid for his system you will find that this is not true. He has been paid in full.

Hygienitech Potema

AI Highlights
  • - Flyers with dust mite imagery rarely generate calls and may be discarded.
  • - Use your own name; avoid hygieni or Potema; earnings may take years.

So this is may very important to all those

matress cleaners working alone believing

in fast grow money and opportunities. This kind of service is very very intimate an also nobody really knows and cares about the dust mite problem because most of people dont have problems like hayfever ekcema .. so the flyers are ugly and almost with a pic of a big dustmite-so nobody will call you using that p.o.s. paper will land directly into the trashcan. Its not true that in europe customers get matress sanitizing every year ist just the same like in usa or uk.The only one that is earning money are the sellers of this system.I do that kind of biz. since 2years and after learning all the donts i have a little succes.

1.Use only your own name not any hygieni or Potema.

2.do only nice Positive commercial all other is like you burn money!!

3.Try to start in hotels better cheap start and present as too expensive and not present the certificates are generating new customers!!

But-you will need 1-3years to live only from sanitizing,so better have a job and let that vacuum biz grow slow but good.

As a business owner, it amazes me that someone who wants to give advise cannot spell check and cannot communicate in a professional manner. Very convincing........not or should I say na so you are more comfortable.

You use facts that you cannot backup because you have no idea what you are talking about. You mention the, and I quote, "trashcan" which should only house your comments.

Victoria S Jkb

I have learned the sometimes you just need to take comments like these at a far view and not let them make up your minds for you. :)

I am finding that this is industry is the one to be in..

This year alone I have seen more than 2 cruise ships with pest like these on them and the growing number of people with awareness to such pest is making this a very very profitable biz. You can take baby steps and do ok.. Or you can just go for it with all of your might and really crank it up.

The people at Hygienitech have always been very helpful when I call or email. I wish sometimes I could just meet other Hygienitech biz owners to pick their brains.

I’ve searched high and low and have not found one person who purchased the Hygienitech system who is still in business. The phone numbers don’t work and if they do, they reroute to Doug.

No one is active on social media and that’s very weird.

I’m losing faith because on top of all that 90% of the reviews on every platform I’ve seen are horrible. I don’t think I’m going to purchase this system.

What a great opportunity, I got tons of help from the company while building my business

AI Highlights
  • - Hygienitech helped me quit a job I hated.
  • - They answered questions and training aids were terrific.
  • - I can work when and where I want; pay is great.

This is a great opportunity and thanks to the help I got from Hygienitech, I was able to quit a job I hated and wasn't going anywhere. They were always there to answer my questions and the online and video training aids were terrific. I am now able to work when and where I want and the money is great.

I read where some people weren't happy but they probably didn't work at building their business or listening to the people at Hygienitech.

I could not have done it without their help and the services I perform for people are really appreciated.

This is the kind of feedback we need.

It is true, just like any other business, what you put in is what you get, period!

Can I get your details so we I can find out more about this business?

Guest

The machine is actually a Kirby vacuum - I should know I worked for Kirby!!!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-378518

It may be true that it is a Kirby motor in this machine. Being in the business many years ageo I came to realize that only a few companies made motors for other brands, based on the odering companies specs. I need you to and Joe to help me understand why so many other people are being successful with this system and so few complaints.

Guest

This guy sounds exactly like Doug, one of the principles of Hygienitech. Run fast from HYGIENITECH!

They'll take your money and NEVER answer your phone calls again.

Had my machine about 10 years, and USED it twice. They saw me coming for sure.

Guest

can someone let me know the real issue about hygienitech. we're strongly considering a relationship, and need to be properly guided

I personally don't recommend anyone buy a Jani-King franchise. It's cheap to buy .

. .but what are you buying??? Jani-King owns all of the accounts, even the accounts you sell. All the Franchisee owns is some equipment that Jani-King sells to you at high prices; and some cleaning solvents.

The contracts remain Jani-Kings property at all times, and most of the jobs are greatly under bid. Jani-King sells for the sake of selling, and that makes it hard for any franchisee to make any money.

CONCLUSING: I DON'T RECOMMEND BUYING A JANI-KING FRANCHISE. BUYER BEWARE!

Guest

Jani-King is a complete fraud. They fail to tell you that the President, Mr.

Jerry Crawford has past affiliations with Franchise Magazine and reviewers. Because of his past connections, they give Jani-King this wonderful review!

Don't believe it, for if you study their program, you own nothing, just a piece of paper called a Franchise Agreement, and they price their accounts very low that you will not make a reasonable profit but stand an excellent chance to loose money. They downgrade your performance, so they can transfer the business the gave you, to another franchisee.

DON'T BUY A JANI-KING FRANCHISE, FOR IT IS ALL A SHAM JOB.
