HVAC - Review in Home Construction and Repair category from Clarksburg, Maryland
Here's the problem with this company! As one person has stated in this forum about the owners lack of experience.
Very true about that part. Never has this guy Been in the trade of HVAC or plumbing. Never has this owner earned a masters in any trade. So why does this POS charge so much for terrible service?
Easy question. Those ads on television don't pay for themselves. It is a fact Tom Warner was caught doing the same rip off deal with customers. He went under as this company will.
Every customer out there should ask for the owner show up and fix what his employees can't. This should be good. Everyone needs to ask for the owners masters license. Not the one he paisd for with somebody else's name on it.
And everyone should record on hidden camera this company. The owner isn't even certified for use of Freon by the cfc. How sad is this! This Muslim is a joke destroying the American workers that earned what they do.
Not having the middle east pay for advertising by whatever means there money comes by. Use American workers that earned this trade.
America is already hurt enough so why give your money to this rip off fraudulent person that knows nothing. Just saying!!
Robbing people in heat, charging $260 A 30/5 Capacitor , retail between $30 -$50
I am well versed in HVAC units and had discovered that I had a broken compacitor, but was selling my home, literally closing in two weeks and did not have time to order my own parts. I understand by calling ARS that they need to profit. However, they charged me $266.00 for a part that you can't even find in any retail setting for more than $50, a 30/5 Capicitor. So they LITERALLY charged me FIVE TIMES the price. Now the kicker, that doesn't include labor! They charged me $89 in labor to unscrew the back panel and pop in the capictor, and check the pressure generated.
If this was jewelry or any other luxury purchse I might understand this mark up. However this is people's safety and health. ARS is taking advantage of the dire straights people find themselves in when their AC is not working. I am in contact with Karen Hicks of NC Consumer Protection Agency and am working with our local TV station's show 5 ON YOUR SIDE to see how many other services and parts are being overcharged to people in dangerous situations.
Please share any bills via email or any other specific information regarding ARS HVAC cost of parts, repair and service. I have not recieved any explanations when I have tried to contact ARS about this matter. thinckley@***.com
HVAC subcontractor was extremely negligent during installation
We had our house built new in the Desert Peak area and closed on it in September 2007. Four years later our POS Goodman AC unit installed by Chas Roberts in Phoenix, AZ, *** out completely on us when it was 114 degrees.
We hired a local HVAC service and repair company to come to the house to diagnose the problem. The service person went into our attic space to inspect the evaporator coil, and it was completely encrusted in dirt and loose insulation. This apparently led to corrosion of the coil and then it's eventual failure (this coil has condensed water on it which got trapped by all the junk stuck to it).
The service technician said he had never seen anything like it. He explained that the only way it could have occurred is that the original installers (installation was done in July and performed by Chas Roberts) opened up the unit to the attic to cool it off while they were working on it. The air handler drew in all the loose dirt and insulation at this point and it stuck to the indoor coil. Apparently they did not care and just left it that way and closed it up.
Fast forward 4 years later, and surprise! Complete failure of the HVAC system. Not to mention I'm out $2000 in repairs. All I can say is stay away from DR Horton. They are a complete disaster.
This company is dishonest
My latest email:
I'm really unsure how much more badly in faith this warranty company can bargain. I called twice on Saturday that my HVAC had failed and was told twice I would be contacted in two hours by a service company. Never happened. Called again on Sunday, same thing and was told I could have an 11-3 appointment on Monday. 6 hours later Sooner Services called and said they may be able to do that but HMS doesn't hold the schedule so not sure where that came from. They came and said the HVAC was dead. I was contacted by 2 other service companies on Wednesday and was told they were told to get a second opinion. Confusion. I was also contacted by the home office 1-80*-327-****, ext 4133 and was assured the unit would be fixed today. One company came out looked at the unit and said, yepp it's dead. Called the 1-80*-432-**** and they said they would ORDER the part and ship it to the service company. At this point I have been without air for 5 days in the middle of a serious heat advisory in Oklahoma City. I was also told I would need to pay $105 on top of the deductible for a "reclamation fee." I would like someone to honestly tell me what is going on, when the unit will be fixed, and why HMS needs a "second opinion" on it's own contractors." At this point I have had to take 8 hours off work and paid the $75 deductible and have had no results.
Side note I have had to take 8 hours of leave to meet these appointments $260 and was forced to buy a window AC $125 on top of the deductible and the policy itself......

A guy called todays said he was HVAV, in my area and wants to check water heater. He would not give me his business address and phone number.
He hung up. I think he is fraud.
What do you think? please reply
266.00 is not bad, going rate now is 295.00 all the way to 695.00 it is not the cost of the part or the time it takes to change, it has to do with what it takes to run a profitable business that will be around to cover any warranty repairs later, they also have to cover any insurance on your home in case something goes wrong with the part they installed, insurance to cover the vehicle in case of an accident on the way to your home, insurance for the employee if he gets shocked and hurt or dead while working on your system, health insurance to keep the best employees around, 401k, you have to pay good to keep the good ones, 25 to 50 an hr plus commissions, a capacitor cost from 3 to 25 dollars, and i installed them for 295 to 395 for the dual ones with a year warranty parts and labor, so you have nothing to complaint about, if you don't want to pay, fix it yourself and don't forget to check amp's and voltage to motor and compressor, resistance on windings, fan blade for balance, pressures, evaporator and condenser coil pressure drops to see if they are filthy, return air and supply pressure drop, and everything else that needs to be checked to find out why that capacitor went bad, otherwise you will be changing capacitors yearly, like everybody else that does not know what they are doing. This is written by one of the most expensive and top 95% a/c man in the country, and maybe the world, i haven't checked international prices yet, but i'm sure they are cheaper than me.
Beautiful respond i just love it... you said it all... if you dont like the price do it yourself.
