Don’t use Hutches Car Wash/Mission Car Wash on the corner of South McCarran and So. Virginia in Reno (6355 S McCarran Blvd) Reno, NV 89509. Stay a way unless you want bad work along with under average workmanship….along with, over 90 minutes of aggravation with no resolution…

Unfortunately I took my new (silver) 2015 Tahoe LTZ to this car

wash today (June 1st, 2015) and received one of the worst car wash and waxing’s I have had in many, many years. So you know, I am over 60 years old and to needless to say, this is NOT my first redo as it relates to owning nice cars and taking them to car washes…

The guy at the reception point where you order your wash was great but, it went downhill from…Note to self: Always watch these supposed hand wash places wash the car. I watched these guys rip through supposedly washing my vehicle both times (yah, they had to wash it twice because they didn’t get it clean the first time…duh). That’s one of the reasons why I made them wash it twice…They were Operating WAY too fast and defiantly not washing the entire vehicle! (missed stuff like wheels, roof top and grill)

The Wax: or should I say “the lack there of”. First off I asked about the liquid wax quality and was told it was good (should have checked myself first). Watered down pink stuff that had very little actual wax content (checked it after the fact)… Then, I watched the guy apply the wax. First off they started to use a regular home sponge and second did NOT get wax on the entire surfaces. In fact missed probably 30% of what they did do before I stopped them. (the customer standing next to me was shocked, showing me what they missed and left with-out getting his done…smart guy).

When I told the waxing guy he needed to go slower, use a wax applicator, get the remaining bugs off before he waxed and to put wax on the entire surface of the car. He stopped waxing and went to find the manager. The first “manager” wasn’t a manager at all so I asked him to get the real manager. This person/ manager (a nice lady at first) got very indignant when I pointed out the lack of skill being used, that their liquid wax (showed her) was watered down and the bugs were not cleaned off and being waxed as well…she actually told me the bugs we were looking at together, weren’t bugs and abruptly went to find someone else…

The next guy, also nice at first… and by now two employees were standing there saying that the last Manager “needed customer service training”…this new manager first tried to tell me that the wax application was correct and that the wax being used was of high quality. After a lengthy conversation he told me the only way he could help me was to wipe the wax that was on, off. He refused to refund my money for the waxing that was not completed and told me it was ok if I told others about their poor care. So, here I am warning you…By the way, I have photos and a video; should you want either, contact me at DLspeakercoah@***.com.

There was more to the conversations but alas the lessons learned are: unless you want a chance at the same experience I had, DON’T go to Hutches Car Wash / Mission Car Wash
