False advertisement.
Hurst describes a brokerage boat by saying things that are untruths. If you are from a fair distance and you act based on their words you may suffer undue expenses to find out you will literally be responsible for excess costs totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars. When you realize the issues and you confront Hurst they hold you deposit and force you to accept the deduction off your deposit or try to sue them. I lost almost $3,000.

Hurst Marina - Boat Review from Scarborough, Ontario
I have purchased 3 boats from Hurst, the latest a brokerage boat in December 2015. Hurst has always been a top notch company to deal with. They do what they say they are going to and provide the very best service. I have recommended them to friends who have had the same experience as I have.

Good quality

Do your Due Diligence
I purchased my boat from Hurst, they brokered the deal - it was a used boat. Docked my boat there for four years. Had all the service done by them, with the exception of new canvas. The consistently charged more than there estimates - so check the quote against the invoice if you get service. They also brokered the deal when I sold the boat. Be aware they are on the side of the buyer and will do anything and everything for the buyer, not for you, the loyal customer. They are just looking at getting their broker commission and are not concerned about getting you the best deal. As they say buyer beware.

Boat Repair - Hurst Marina
I took a fishing boat to go in for repairs this summer to Hurst Marina on the Rideau. The service of the the technician was good however be aware that they will charge you far more than the competition. They "bake" in $60 for a water test fee and another $60 for launching your boat in the water on a launch they own! This information was not on the invoice. The bill based on research afterwards was 30% higher than it should have been. I have heard similar complaints from others afterwards. Be aware that they charge way too much.

They must have changes. Because this winter I purchased a brokered boat from Hurst Marine, it was a very unsatisfied experience.
They lied about the boats condition, and when I paid a surveyor to survey the boat the items and comments were far from what Hurst said. I asked for a quote to do the necessary repairs and it amounted to more than$10,000 plus, plus. I discussed those costs with Hurst and could not come to a negotiated settlement. The conditional deal aborted.
When I requested my deposit to be returned they hit me with a $1,200 bill for opening the boat to be surveyed and the cost to do the quote.
To say the least I was very upset. They told me I was unreasonable!
