Got our cabinets last week, arrived damaged on some of them, all the bottom cabinets that weren't falling apart were the wrong color. Also materials used are nothing like what was shown to us in the showroom, paid a premium price for particleboard not wood that we had ordered. Feel like we got took by the used car salesman using slight of hand to focus us on some good things , but covering up that these are not quality cabinets, just press board they call it " engineered wood" but it's pressboard/particleboard, could have done better at home depot or lowes. Got ripped off and now have to wait at least another month to get our home back.

Did not honor the warranty

We bought our brand new home in 2016. Moved in on December 1, 2016. Our brand new Huntwood Sapalle cabinet doors came with a manufacturers defect that showed up 6 weeks after we moved into the house. The corners of the doors started to separate. They said it was a glue problem. All 47 cabinet doors had to be replaced. The second set of doors had the same problem, the corners started to separate on several doors. All 47 doors were replaced again in October 2017. The third set of doors were installed and so far the original DEFECT has not developed. However, 2 doors are 1/8 inch wider than they should be, so they don't close. One door overlaps the other. Two other doors have nicks and scratches. (Note: All 47 doors were shipped in a box with nothing separating them, just wood on wood). Since October (It's now February) we've been working with the distributor to get these four doors replaced. Just learned today that the manufacturer, HUNTWOOD has refused to replace the doors under warranty. Unbelievable! We will have to either have the doors planed to fit, or order new doors at our expense. Simply horrible service.

Unbelievably bad experience

UNBELIEVABLY BAD EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY! After originally planning to work with a competitor of Huntwood, we switched to Huntwood for cabinets for a high-end investment property, because time was of the essence for us and Huntwood said they could deliver their cabinets about 1-2 weeks sooner than their competitor could deliver. We ordered the cabinets, paid 100% in advance, and were told the cabinets would be delivered on August 23rd. We also arranged for Huntwood to install the cabinets. On August 23rd we were informed that the factory would not release the cabinets, because we had not yet paid for the installation. We quickly paid, and the cabinets arrived one week later than expected. At the installation, we found that the cabinet we had ordered for a built-in microwave was wrong and had to be re-ordered. Today they informed me that the correct microwave cabinet will be delivered and installed on October 5th, which is fully six weeks later than promised and much later than the competition would have delivered. In addition, spice drawers were installed extremely poorly and do not glide open smoothly, the kitchen island was not installed straight, and some of the trim is not colored like the rest of the cabinets and needs to be touched up by the company. What a disaster this company has been.

Our designer chose Huntwood for our kitchen remodel. Within 2 years we had severe water damage below the sink area and the paint was wearing off. I called several times and talked with Brian and Randy Kenny. Many weeks later someone came out and said unfortunately, our "LIFE TIME" warranty with this certain problem expired after 2 years. They sent someone out to sand down the bubbling water damage and repaint. The paint used was slightly darker then the pure white and was definitely noticeable. I complained but they said that was the best they could do. Now again, the same problem. Please REFER TO THE PICTURES! This is what you can expect with Huntwood! This inferior product should never have been used in an area close to a sink. It has been less than 6 years and I now must REPLACE my cabinets. TERRIBLE PRODUCT and a company who REALLY doesn't care!

Not Very Good Quality

We ordered custom cabinets as we were dealing with a small irregular kitchen layout and we try to support local businesses whenever possible. We were initially told they would be ready in 3 - 4 weeks so we coordinated all the other moving parts around this timeframe. After 4 weeks I inquired about the status and was told it would be another week. After unpacking the cabinets we discovered that one of the finished panels was a completely different stain tone and number. I called the salesman who casually told me that he would order another one but it would take 7 to 10 days to have made up. Are you kidding me? We can't complete the install without this panel so now our kitchen is delayed once again due to Huntwood's screw-up all because someone can't read an invoice. Then we noticed that one of the cabinets is stained completely inside and out while the others have a natural Beachwood interior finish. Not the end of the world but really? You can't see that the one cabinet is different than the rest of the order? Obvious to me they have zero quality control and if they do have someone in that position they should be replaced. I will never purchase anything from Huntwood again and will tell all my friends and family not to as well. I really don't think they give a *** about customer service/satisfaction.

Provided poor service replacing shoddy workmanship of custom cabinetsns

Updated by user Dec 05, 2011

We are currently awaiting reorders of cabinets. The repaired cabinets turned out to have other defects that showed up upon trying to install that just tipped the line of acceptable. I lost a lot of my labor in the process. We reordered 6 cabinets and asked for a few pieces of trim as well as an exchange of a panel that had the wrong grain direction, suggested two cabinets be combined into one, as well as reordering some doors that are out of speck. I\'m waiting for this order much longer than I expected, meaning what was touted as being less than a week for their \"Hot Line\" is more like a month or longer.

My neighbor also ordered Huntwood, and they were the ones who recommended them to us. The stated their cabinets has multiple problems as well and have been going though some of the same things.

I\'m hoping after all is said and done, I won\'t be looking for a Lawyer. Huntwood seems to be trying, but for the life of me, I can\'t figure out why they are having such a hard time. I really want them to get it right and succeed. I will try to keep polishing this mess up with them as long as they play nice. I\'ve found that other doors are a bit wider or narrower than to specifications and I\'m dreading bringing it up. But, hey, spending over 12k on kitchen cabinets, they should be close to perfect. I don\'t expect the boxes to be furniture which they are not, I do expect the fronts, doors, and drawers to be 12k worth. The hot glue and staples are not seen so who cares.

So far slow but moving forward.

We purchased 20 cabinets from Huntwood, after doing a lot of research. The cabinets had various problems and through our experience a couple problems are to be expected and companies try to resolve them. In Huntwood's case, 6 unacceptable problems showed up with a few others. Of the one requiring factory fixes, 5 cabinet had shelving misalignments of 1/4" too high on one side with one of them being twisted as well, a cabinet had a side 1/4" too long forcing the face-frame out. In trying asking to have the problems resolved, Huntwood, first asked us to send photos, and as the quantities of problems were discovered, they elected to come visits our house. The first rep, tried to suggest they fix the "not yet installed" cabinets at our house by applying more plywood inside the cabinet with new hole alignments. I said, no way, and he agreed to take them back. As I found more problems, an other rep came out, and started arguing with me about Huntwood not having good quality control. He got defensive, said that wasn't the problem, but that perhaps I was too picky. He suggested perhaps Huntwood should just take back the cabs and sell them as rejects in their outlet. I found that to be a bad suggesting when they could clearly fix the problems. In that visit, 4 cabinets that had been returned had their replacements brought in the house. Those replacements had finished sides that didn't line up with the face-frames, creating and misalignment issues for installing my top moldings. Those cabinets and the others problem cabs, were sent back to Huntwood. Huntwood had stated, they have a three day turn around on a "hot" line for problem cabinets. These cabinets were returned in 18 days (allow 2 days for shipping), and the fixes are as followed. The cabinet with the 1/4" side too long, had the face-frame removed, and that side replaced, 4 cabs, had their tops ground down making the cabinets about 1/16th too short, and one cabinet came back replaced in generally good order. Of the returned cabinets there are door scuffs and other minor shipping damage. Huntwood didn't prepare the shippers to pick up the cabinets, so they didn't have the proper materials to protect them. The shippers told me they only know about the pick up 1/2 hour before they came, yet we were told by Huntwood, they had planned this in advance, otherwise I would have suggest keeping the doors at our house, thinking all the cabinets were going to be completely replaced. As of now, I'm trying to work with what I have, there are tricks to deal with misalignments of cabinets, and I am challenging myself to see if they can be installed. Of the cabinets not address as problems, I am finding issues of bowed face-frames. I don't have a lot of desire to return these and find a new cabinet company, although I have some in mind if I need one. Belmont, European style, is one company I'd check out, and Omega, who is a bit more expensive, makes very nice stuff. Overall, I think Huntwood needs to fix some problems. I like that they are in our state, Washington, which is good for our economy. But, if I wanted poor service and shoddy workmanship, I'd just order the cheaper stuff from over seas. Communications, customer service, workmanship and shipping coordination needs some work.
