Verified Reviewer |Inadequate Support
I tried to make an online payment using my HSA Bank card, only to have it declined as 'not a valid card.' I called HSA Bank to confirm my new card was active, and the support experience left me more frustrated than when I started. The wait time was reasonable (under 2 minutes), but the actual help I received was severely lacking.
Despite already providing information through the automated system, I had to repeat everything to the agent. 'John' seemed genuinely apologetic and was clearly trying his best, but he was completely out of his depth with my issue. He put me on hold three separate times, couldn't resolve the problem, and his only solution was for me to pay out of pocket rather than use my HSA funds, which defeats the entire purpose of having an HSA card. His explanation that 'they're moving from Visa to MasterCard' doesn't excuse a non-functioning card that should be active.
This issue appears to affect online payments specifically. I don't blame the agent himself. He seemed undertrained and unprepared to handle basic card issues. The responsibility falls on HSA Bank for either failing to provide adequate training, allowing agents to take calls before they're ready, or having inadequate training protocols.
HSA Bank wasted over half an hour of my time on a problem they created (an active card that doesn't work for online payments).
This is unacceptable for a financial institution handling people's healthcare funds. Until HSA Bank fixes these card activation issues and properly trains their support staff, I can't recommend relying on their card for time-sensitive healthcare payments.
- Wait time to talk to an agent
- Agent suggest i pay my bill with a non hsa bank account
- Inadequate support from either poor training or poor standards
- Issue still unresolved

Can't access account - no updated card - can't reach anyone
This bank is the worst! At no choice of my own my original HSA account was transferred to them.
First they never sent me an update card after the expiration date. Second, I can not access my online account. I tried resetting the password but they will not send me the email to do so. I called them twice and the first time, after waiting on hold for 30 minutes they said they would do a call back in 1 hour.
It's now been three. I called another number and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up. I have emailed their customer service twice and no response. Next up I call a lawyer.
That is my money and right now they are holding it hostage. After this I am going to find a new company and get my money away from these unprofessional scam artists.
User's recommendation: Avoid them at all costs. Go elsewhere

Verified ReviewerCan’t get your money out!
After months of useless calls with customer service, trying to transfer to a new custodian, I gave up and just had them send me a final check directly. They had no intention of moving my funds to a new custodian. They should be shut down.

Impossible to reach
The website is terrible and not user-friendly. There is no way to contact anyone there.
The email address does not accept email. I need additional information on a pending matter and cant reach anyone.
I am very disappointed my employer is using HSA Bank for the administration of our health spending accounts because they are terrible. We used them before and I had nothing but headaches trying to get reimbursement for verified medical expenses.
User's recommendation: DO NOT USE

Verified ReviewerHorrible Customer Service
They updated their computer system late last year and their system no longer sends me a verification code required to log in. I've been on the phone with them for 2 months to resolve this.
They are inept, I've been in an endless loop of agents that have no answers, but worst of all, I've asked repeatedly for a supervisor or manager to escalate and no one will get on the phone with me or return my call. Find another provider.

These folks are total idiots! Communicating with them or getting them to make a simple correction is like painful.
Their website is confusing and hard to find what you're looking for. I am looking for another place for my HSA funds.
User's recommendation: Some place other than these folks.
