Howard Harrison Asphalt Paving

Howard Harrison Paving was doing work in my neighborhood. Howard Harrison 3rd saw how bad my driveway was and knocked on my door. He spoke to my husband and gave him a fantastic price quote. Believe me when I tell you "my husband is very, very picky and expects alot for his money!!" My husband told Howard he would not give him an answer on doing the job until he talked it over with me. I came home we talked, and while having dinner Howard knocked on the door and we reluctantly gave him a "yes" because we couldn't pass on that price!! Howard said they would be there at 10 the next day to do the job.

I got nervous after thinking about how it all happened so fast. We hadn't signed a contract yet, so that meant we could change our minds. We rode down the street to see how the driveway that they just completed looked. The view of the driveway looked good from street however we didnt get up close. I then started to check out the internet to see how their reviews were. Nowadays "most" everyone is putting a review about something, or someone online. {Except for me, this is my first one.}

The online reviews were not good to say the least. The most recent one that I could find was from August 2016. All the others were mostly from 2015 or before. That told us that either the crew that was doing the bad work had been replaced or because of the bad reviews they weren't doing many jobs. My husband and I carefully read the negative reviews from several different websites. We then prepared a list of concerns we had and reasons why we decided not to use the company. We were prepared to turn Howard Harrison Paving away when they arrived to do the driveway.

The next day the forman Chris showed up with the equipment to start the job. We spoke to him about our concerns and questions. He answered them very honestly and told us that the "old crew" that did a lousy job was gone and that the "new crew" had very good workers who did quality work. Chris also assured us that he would be there working along side them and that we'd be very happy with the driveway.

THE DRIVEWAY IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Howard Harrison Paving did exactly what they said would be done. Please dont go by the old negative reviews. My hard to please, picky husband and I can confirm that Howard Harrison Paving did a fantastic job!! The crew are very courtious, harworking individuals who aim to please their customers!!

My mom contracted to have a driveway paved with Mr. Harrison Sr.

She paid half down $750. and the job was suppose to start the following week. The only thing that started the next week were excuses, delays and lies. This went on for months, then Mr.

Harrison claimed his sister died. Then after about a year and a half he stopped returning and answering calls. I filed a complaint with the Dept of Labor & Licensing in Baltimore MD. My mom is a 66 disabled, ill woman who lives on a fixed income.

I want her money returned. Mr. Harrison Sr. stood in our kitchen created a contract, & received payment for a job he never intended on completing.

He is a thief. Consumers should be aware of his fraudelant business practices!

this company is the worst i have ever dealt with in my life, Howard comes in gives me a great price, takes my money then starts the job as scheduled them it was all down hill from there. Never graded my driveway properly, never edged driveway, was suppose to install 4 inched of RGB compacting stone but only covered with about 1 1/2 inches just to cover the surface and did not compact it at all.

As for the Asphalt, it was suppose to be at least 3 inches thick and compacted using a power roller, they laid down maybe 2-3 inches then quickly rolled over it a few times never compacting it tight and smoothly. I refused to give Howard his final payment because of when we finally walked around on the surface it was very soft in over 3/4 or the driveway and Howard tells me to stay off it for a few weeks, little did i know the reason for the soft surface was because to the lack of RGB compacting stone. After two weeks, I set my car on the driveway over night and all four wheels sank into the asphalt, my driveway today is a mess and Howard has refused to respond to my calls to his cell phone, 443-591-****.

its been 3 months now and my ony recourse is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims court.

Howard Harrison Paving in MD came to me offering a great deal - he had huge extra material due to rain preventing doing some driveways. He paved my 450 foot driveway at night and left the last 25 feet a mess. He charged $900 more then he told me at the start. I paid about $9000.

He promised to fix it and offered to seal the work he did so I paid about $900 for that - he missed about 15% of the paved area. After dozens of calls he came back to fix the end 10 months later, but only if he could pave my parking lot - so I paid $4000 for that and a reseal of the whole deal end to end.

He paved the lot with less material then promised then claimed he sealed everything. Upon inspection he admitted he skipped the redo of the bad driveway job but maintained he sprayed the rest. He clearly lied about it. I had another opinion which was that nothing was sprayed - now the parking lot of falling apart. Now he refuses to return calls to finish the job and fix the work. NEVER USE THIS MAN - HE WILL CHEAT YOU. I AM PLANNING ON FILING COURT PAPERWORK ASAP.
