Houzz is not to be trusted. I hired a pro based on the reviews on their website. I lost a lot of $$ and wanted to warn other people. Houzz would not post my 1 star review. Houzz is not to be trusted! They are more concerned about their bottom line rather than people trusting their website. Do NOT trust Houzz.

I still have NOT received any word from the seller who needs to send me postage paid return labels for 5 boxes for a full refund!!! The Pebbles described on website say they are black charcoal. However, the pebbles we received were green and gray! I even sent pictures of the pebbles received.

Extremely Disappointed with Houzz - A Cautionary Tale

I joined Houzz with the expectation of enhancing my business through their website and room sketching services. Unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of frustrating.

Ineffective and Questionable Leads: The quality of leads I received from Houzz was deeply disappointing.

Most of them were either irrelevant or seemed like outright scams, contributing nothing to my business growth.

Deceptive Auto-Renewal Policy: A major issue I faced was their auto-renewal policy. My contract was automatically renewed for another year without my explicit consent or proper notification. This lack of transparency is a serious concern for any business.

Complex Cancellation Procedure: Canceling their service was an ordeal. It was so difficult to navigate their cancellation process that I had to change my credit card details and involve my payment processor to stop future charges.

This experience with Houzz has been a lesson in caution.

Their service did not live up to the promises, and the business practices I encountered were questionable. I strongly advise anyone considering Houzz to think twice and explore other, more reliable options.

Possible Houzz protection of its vendor/contractors

Great sales and service. Unfortunately, when it came time to review one of their vendor/contractors, unlike both Yelp and Google reviews, their customer service department blocked my review, claiming that my report represented too much "opinion." The law suit against the Elcar General Contractor in Northern Virginia was not opinion.

The judgement for $18,000 in my favor was not opinion.

But, if they were confused about what is fact and what is "opinion," look no further: My opinion is that Houzz might be protecting it's vendors/contractors by only publishing reviews that are favorable to them. I can't prove that, but since the company can't seem to tell the difference between fact and opinion, I feel I should offer them some help.

I placed an order on October 31, tried to cancel within 2 days but was told I was too late. Was told to wait until I received it, then submit it for return.

They wanted to subtract over from $30 from my return credit for their return label for an item that only cost over $50 to begin with!

I think that's unconscionable. I waited to receive the item, inserted the instruction return page as directed, and took it to USPS in the exact same package I received it in, addressed the return to the address on the shipping label, for a cost of $5.85.

USPS tracking # is 950011****733318****15 and was received at your warehouse on 11/20.

I want confirmation that I will be credited the full purchase amount that I've already paid.

The company sent me to collections even though it was their fault my card got locked.

The company sent me to collections because I had not paid my monthly contractor fee of almost $300. It was an automatic payment that stopped When the company tried to charge my card three times in one day.

It locked my card, and I had to get a new card. Afterward I talked with someone and even though I did not want to continue the subscription, they told me it was a year subscription and I couldn't cancel it. So I went into the app and put in my new card number. Now on my credit card statement I can see charges several times per week for the monthly amount.

They are always pending and never actually go through. But I know the company has my correct credit card number. Regardless they sent me to collections saying that I am behind on my payments. I mean, what am I supposed to do more?

And by the way I didn't get a single job out of the 7 months I paid for the service.

And I only got maybe three good leads. Definitely do not recommend this company for contractors.

You must have let this matter slide for quite a while. No company sends you to collection until you are 90 days past due.

Purchased an item which arrived substandard, definitely not as described. Return is problematic since the shipping expense exceeds the product value. HOUZZ is currently offering free shipping on this item and should be willing to compromise on it's return.
