Stop the same thing deom hppening to others!
Dan Murphy is a total RIP OFF!! My boy took his car there last year and got it back in pieces!
To get it back he had get the Berlin Police involved and pay Dan a $1500 release fee. My suggestion to everyone who wants to do business with this shop is to RUN!!
If while you are running away and you lose your shoes, don't STOP just KEEP RUNNING!! It's cheaper to buy new shoes then continue doing business with this Guy!!!

The place looks good on the outside. Dan is also a nice guy and good story teller.
So you start to think with all the good reviews on google he cant be that bad! Well my experience is about the same as others. Delays after delays. The delays would have been fine if my car ran right after the work.
Somehow he didnt catch a misfiring engine, leaking fuel line, or a parasitic drain. He seems behind on many projects so doesnt have time to stand behind the work.
Beware of the cancellation policy. You might end up paying just to tow your car home.

Over year of nothing but lies and headaches had to get Berlin police and get my car out of there. The car was not completed best advice stay far away from this con man and if you dont believe me do you can do your own research or just call the Berlin Police department and you will find out

Rip off business theft deception by contract
Add my car over year to depart destroyed it horrible unprofessional work beat and switch eBay used and generic parts when car that back caught fire Interieur trast all kinds of damage from interior to exterior all work done faulty causing severe damage and depreciation of value Dan Murphy hang up on you call you names yell at you threaten you and control you car he will hold your car hostage for more money you will have built control

I too was a victim of Dan Murphy and his partner Chris who painted my 69 Chevelle. Dan charged for brand new parts and put old rebuilt parts in the car.
We were scammed out over 10k between Dan and Chris. My father's ashes were to be added to the paint of my car and Dan lost them..... after hours there and threats to call the cops and tear the place apart myself Dans father and his son found them. Chris and Dan should both be in jail but that may be to good for them as well.
They will get free meals, free cable and I will still be paying for it for them. Dan has also scammed many people out of money for fundraisers that he fraudulently held.
He is a dirt bag and should never be able to operate again. 4 shops 3 years and who knows how many people gave him money for work never completed
This con man ripped me off for $18000 Dan Murphy AKA the thief the con man I had to tow my a car out of there with the Berlin police department I am the 6 customer that year that Berlin police had to retrieve their car they have running file the detectives are on this guy like stink on *** hes been busted sad part is many people obviously friends and family protect this THIEF

So called great mechanic destroyed our car
2014 November , car was to have. Motor rebuild , trans rebuild, by Dan Murphy Hotrod Garage , in Sewell NJ .
Never got receipts for the engine build so we have no idea if new parts went into this motor. After months of stall tactics and excuses car was not running . Every time I went to the shop he was not working on my car. And kept saying he needed parts.He moved my car to the Sicklerville NJ location and the car sub-stained body damage and car was still not running thousands of dollars and car is destroyed .
This guy has no idea what he is doing . I want my refund 10,984 we are devastated.
all we wanted was our car done for the summer of 2015. This was a simple job

Know what's funny you report on a couple different pages and the price is different that you want back and to find out that you get cars built and try to take the builder to court to get money low life

Car destroyed by Hotrodgarage
We put the car in shop nov 2014 , was running , simple motor and trans rebuild .this place could not do anything correctly . Nothing but excuses and then more excuses.6 months later pulled the car from shop, body damage and car not running .had to get the police April 29 to get my car out ,this place should be shut done.
Destroyed our beautiful 71 Nova.. So sad just want our money back so we can get a real shop to fix it. Six month to install a motor and trans come on really ..
Stay far far away from here .. Sad Sad and more Sad

You were fired by your own family.

I had my car there from 1 Oct 2019 to almost Nov of 2020. He only did the transmission and a *** paint job.
I didn't even touch my engine. He always uses his wife's medical condition as an excuse not to finish your car; As if he is the only worker at his shop.
